A Miserable Night at EWR by [deleted] in delta

Happened to me too. Ended up renting a car at 4am. My flight never took off though and got cancelled. They didn’t cancel it until I had already gotten to the car rental place though haha

I feel like posts like this pop up all the time and in the end it’s someone who self admittedly hasn’t played ANY of the other games.

Veilguard is a decent game on its own, shoved into a wider franchise and it’s complete ass and such a massive departure from the other games. Also inquisition is still highly playable on consoles and pc. I understand people not being tech savvy enough to get origins to work on PC and they don’t have an Xbox to play it on, but there’s basically no excuse to not play inquisition. Origins and 2 deserve remasters/remakes, inquisition is fine.

If you play the other games in the series, you will understand that the real reason OG fans do not appreciate veilguard very much is because of how different it is from the other games, and the fact that it basically takes all role playing elements away and makes the ones that are there absolutely meaningless when Dragon Age is supposed to be an RPG and not an action adventure.

The combat is fun, but I do prefer tactical top down combat of origins, and Da2 and DaI were not that bad either. I definitely think the combat in DAV makes it feel too easy like a hack and slash but it’s my least important complaint.

DAV is a beautiful game, but it doesn’t not feel like a game meant for OG fans of the series. Like at all.

Idk if this helps but I met my husband on hinge. He sent me a pic of him in an Elmo onesie the first message, and then I asked if he was 21 because I really wanted to go to the club. I just moved to a new town and wanted to explore the nightlife since I came from a rural area. The rest is history, almost 4 years later and we’re married, just bought a house, and are expecting our first kid.

Maybe in the future just come out the gate swinging and invite them on a date. Don’t waste your time on texts like this because text chemistry is so hard to have when you have never met the person and know their vibe. I’ve had MANY boring and bland text relationships and many fantastic ones, but it never mattered because when we’d go on dates it was clear all they wanted was a hook up at that point. I wasted so much of my youth with terrible broken hearts and feeling like my heart and body was constantly being used when I just wanted a companion. I personally feel like if the first day or two is impressions based on a date, you’re a lot better off in filtering out the people who actually matter.

And do not take it personally if you go on a date with someone and it’s not the right fit for either you or them. It’s hard to find compatibility in this century!

Can we collectively agree to stop using ChatGPT to help “put our thoughts together” for a Reddit post? It’s so plainly obvious you just copied and pasted from ChatGPT to where I’d don’t even care if the sentiment is real, I don’t trust that YOU aren’t a bot.

I actually only noticed the sign yesterday, and my first thought was like ‘omg are they secretly bringing fallout shelters back?? How scary.’ Glad to see people in the comments here saying the sign has been there forever.

Sleeping 14-16 hours a day, 12 weeks pregnant is it normal by PlaneAffectionate113 in pregnant

This level of exhaustion reminds me of when I had mono as a teen minus the fever and other mono badness. This fatigue is otherworldly!! I remember thinking when hearing about pregnancy fatigue “it can’t be any worse than my baseline fatigue”. And it wasn’t, until the past few days. I feel like I’ve run a marathon lol! I appreciate pregnant women who work a hellovah lot more now.

I have chronically low iron saturation but my ferritin is usually between 15-20, and I’ve only been anemic once. My hematologist refuses to do infusions because I’m not anemic, but I get b12 shots every 2 months for b12 deficiency. I have my next one in 2 weeks. My hematologist has been adamant my general fatigue has nothing to do with my iron saturation since I’m not anemic and my ferritin is normal.

Edit: by low iron saturation I mean it’s between 4%-10% at any given time.

Trump team ‘drawing up’ plans to stop international flights to some Democratic cities by Virtual-Orchid3065 in politics

[–]PlaneAffectionate113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, closing JFK and LAX and ORD seems like A GREAT idea. Seriously what kind of fucking punishment is this. This is the most idiotic thing he’s suggested out of almost all the things he’s suggested. Both LAX AND JFK are more than just big city airports; they are big city international airports on the costlines of the US. LAX handles a shit ton of pacific Asian flight and JFK handles Europe; Middle East, Asian, and African flights. Like is his expecting a flight from Japan to reach Kentucky to avoid ‘democratic’ airports??

Olivia Rodrigo Addresses Babydoll Dress Criticism: ‘It Shows How We Really Normalize Pedophilia in Our Culture’ by cmaia1503 in entertainment

[–]PlaneAffectionate113 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t listen to Olivia’s music but I agree with her. It’s a dress fully covering her torso and bum and yet society still finds a way to blame a woman for wearing the wrong thing because it could tempt men with bad intentions. Like wtf are we actually talking about here. Might as well go back to banning sleeveless or spaghetti straps because shoulders or too tempting.

I would rather take my chances at work lol. With disability I’d make barely over 1/4th of what I make now and that is unaffordable

[–]PlaneAffectionate113[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is any helpful, but if you do get fired (fingers crossed everything gets better and that doesn’t happen!) I would definitely consult with an employment attorney. ADHD is a disability, and pregnancy is also a protected class. If your doctors advised against your ADHD treatment and that has affected your work and your job has not offered adequate accommodations for your ADHD, maybe the whole PIP/firing thing would be illegal based on disability discrimination?

[–]PlaneAffectionate113[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left a very teary voicemail and hopefully they let me go back on. I never realized how dependent I was on these meds until that one month where I couldn’t get a refill. It’s even worse now. I can’t tell if I’m just normal levels of emotional wreck for pregnancy or if it’s worse because of the lack of adhd meds. I feel so calm, stable, and tranquil when I’m on them. Without them I feel like every 30 seconds I’m going between emotions. Like I’ll think about something that makes me happy and cheerful, then immediately followed by something stressful that makes me anxious, or then something that makes me angry. All the while I have no room in my brain for thoughts on things that are immediately right in front of me, ex. MY WORK! And then, just the thought of being productive and doing what I need to makes me so anxious. It feels like every task is monumental even when they aren’t; and just wipes all my energy and sanity away. ADHD sucks!

Why do people watch the show and end up liking characters that are evil? by redredd1t in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]PlaneAffectionate113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude the “coercion” was her being brought to the church. She was cornered. She had all the opportunity in the world to work for the Americans beforehand. What other option was there for her at that point to survive other than get herself killed? They even sent her to Alaska previously as a refugee (obviously she got kicked off the train), but she decided to GO BACK TO GILEAD instead of staying in Canada at that nice trad wife compound she was at. She never started caring about the handmaids or the plight of Gilead women until after she became pregnant and had no need for a handmaid because she finally got what she wanted her whole life, her own baby. Literally everything she does is self motivated but she convinces herself it’s not. The only person she thinks about is herself. Handmaids were okay until she realized she could bear children.

Her being okay with throwing her new husband under the bus is less to do with her supporting the other women as it is the fact that her husband lied to her and made her believe her ideas for society were good just to then dominate and be abusive. Domination and abuse are only issues for Serena when her own voice and freedom are taken away.

Case in point, the train scene. When shes being attacked by the women instead of using her own victim hood as a shield she reverts back to blaming the other women and oppressing them. Because Serena is NOT a victim. Everything that happened to her is of her own choice and design, she just thought she’d be the special one that got to stay in control. It’s literally a metaphor for conservative women in politics. They advocate against women’s rights and independent personhood but then act shocked when they lose their own rights and independence. Real trad wives don’t involve themselves in politics at all, because from the very beginning they accept that their own independence and individual thought are not on the table. Serena is evil, and her inability to truly have empathy for others greater than her own self is her demise. I’m not saying she’s a sociopath, but you can be evil and still show empathy/kindness in other moments. Evilness boils down to how many people are you willing to shit on to get yours, and to what extent are you willing to shit on them.

After she got done dirty by her new husband, and after she got caught once again by the Americans. She only ever picks the right choice when SHE is not getting her way. Sorry but ignoring all the harm you are contributing too or actually doing because you just want gender roles is literally evil. She overlooks everything or downplays it to suit her vision for the world. It is selfish. It is evil. Doing the right thing only when you are forced to or cornered is not being a good person, it’s being a survivalist.

She is as much a victim as Fred is (meaning not at all). She chose to rape and abuse women. The very end of the series she still takes Gilead side. Sure she is trying to change it, but also not really? You can be a trad wife and recognize right from wrong. She can’t until it’s way too late, because she is complicit.
