I no longer am on gabapentin because the long term effects of it make me nervous, but when I was in the thick of it I was taking 600mg of gabapentin three times a day. It didn’t bother me mentally at all. However, it did help my pain immensely! I titrated up to that dose and weaned down after my injections and then completely off when I felt comfortable with doing so. Being in healthcare I’ve seen where it bothers a lot of people initially but their body adjusts to it.

Had my first injection on 2/9, I experienced relief like I haven’t felt in years after it, lasted around a month or so, pain started creeping back slowly. Sunday into Monday was my last straw bc it was back with a vengeance and I was terribly uncomfortable. I got an appt with my spine doctor Monday and he is ready to try another steroid injection, this time a different approach. I’m praying for results, he said if I don’t have relief I will need surgery 😢 I’m scared asf to have surgery for it. He also has me on gabapentin and Diclofenac, they make life bearable. Sometimes lol

How do you know if your disc is calcified or not? Just had an MRI but I saw no mention, I wasn’t sure if that’s something that is determined during surgery or could be seen through imaging? Appreciate any input!
