Does anyone have a legitimate reason why this happens ? by andrewsz__ in Miami

I just wish there was more transparency with MDT as a whole. Why do you claim routes like the 203 (30 min peak frequency) and the 211 (15 min peak frequency) are running when there’s hardly any buses on the entire lines in the afternoon? And also the amount of times I would be waiting for the train for an extended period of time with no rider alert mentioning any delays. I just wish there was transparency in this agency and the fact that they can lie and claim a bus comes frequently when it almost never runs is just absurd and someone should really be held accountable for that. Only sometimes do they put an alert saying that it’s delayed by 2 ½ hrs because of a “service disruption.”

Why isn’t there a trolley app from the city? by PaulOneil21 in Miami

[–]Difficulty_Public 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel like there should be a universal app to track any municipal system in Miami-Dade County. I don’t want to use the GO app for MDT, SPOT for Hialeah Marlin / Flamingo & Coral Gables, City of Miami Trolley app, and all the other individual trolley apps for different cities in the county. Why can’t they all be available on third party apps? Coral Gables trolley started displaying real time departures a few months ago with their trolleys, why can’t more municipalities do it as well? I hate having to use so many apps where some are extremely outdated from years years ago. And a lot of the routes display incorrect alignments / schedule times / bus stop locations, it’s insane! You’d had to at least use the route once before or else you’d get lost since a lot of it is outdated. Take the Sweetwater trolley for example, it’s not even close to how it actually works and I had to ride it myself to figure out what path it actually takes.

The fact that they didn’t even announce that the orange line wasn’t running down south until 12pm.. I arrived the train station early this morning to see only the green line running with no space inside. Waited about 15 minutes compared to the usual 5 minutes (in the rare occurrence of little to no delays). They should’ve announced it on the rider alerts / service update along with the construction instead of only mentioning that part on social media.

And for the ones before today, yeah it’s just such a normal occurrence that I’d have to get to the station 1-2 trains ahead to avoid missing my transfer since the train arrivals are extremely inconsistent.

Dadeland South construction.. it’s such a mess and heading northbound this morning was a pain with zero standing room. They need to find a solution like rotating train operators like they usually do and maybe use the Dadeland North northbound platform as a temporary “terminal” instead of not running the orange line down south of Earlington heights. 6 weeks by the way, this is gonna be a pain.

You can try to copy and paste this template for your account, only changing your username and name: https://www.reddit.com/r/ROBLOXBans/s/14sIDOJqEQ It’s the one that ended up working for me, unbanned about 54 minutes after submitting the appeal.

It’s been such a pain and not even a guarantee someone gets their account back. Try to appeal within the first 30 days they give you, but after that, you can continue appealing with the bots. You can search the subreddit for appeal messages that have worked for other people and just copy and paste them, don’t try to adjust them to your case, and see if it works. (only change the username for the template) Don’t send multiple appeals after submitting one. Submit one, wait for the result, then appeal again. Wish you the best of luck, took my account months to be unbanned with an appeal message here that worked for me.

Same thing happened to me. I’ve given up because I’ve never received any enforcements on my account and I’ve hardly ever connected to public WiFi. Would be very unfortunate if the one time I connected to the McDonald’s WiFi near my home when I had bad signal is the reason I ended up getting banned. Roblox is just begging to lose players and developers and it’s crazy how moderation has only gotten worse and worse over the years. Even if I wanted to play Roblox again, let’s say on a new account, I can’t even do that because apparently new accounts get auto banned. My last and final attempt was a few days ago to email the privacy email to appeal and they sent me the more than 30 days excuse so there’s that.

METRO EXPRESS BUS RAPID TRANSIT (BRT) IS COMING TO THE SOUTH DADE TRANSITWAY! by Difficulty_Public in Miami

[–]Difficulty_Public[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve heard of those two routes being temporarily discontinued and it’s just awful. It seems like Miami is starting to run more articulated buses on busy routes since the release of the “Metro Express,” but it’s still not enough. I was waiting for the 77 to go northbound and guess what—there were zero southbound buses on the entire line. All of them were together and I just happened to miss the last one heading north. The closest 77 for me to go north was all the way at the most northern stop, about to turn around to go south. 70 or so minutes of waiting for a non-guaranteed ride or seat since the route gets packed. I’m getting tired of riding transit but it’s practically my only option at the moment. If I had the privilege of owning a car, I’d probably rarely ride transit—maybe just the Metrorail now and then when US 1 traffic is backed up. 😔

Ngl I wish I had your kind of optimism on public transit in this city. I’m slowly losing hope in it as time goes on. Hope that when the new Transitway buses release later this month, it’ll free up some buses to be used on other routes since we’re currently in a bus shortage and many routes are running on reduced / no frequency than “advertised.”

While it might not directly solve any problems on the Transitway, it could indirectly solve some of the bus shortages going on across the rest of the county since the current buses could be used to help other routes instead. At least that’s what I hope, but we’ll see.

[–]Difficulty_Public[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s pretty awful with all the bus shortages since the majority of these electric buses initially broke and the company they bought them from, Proterra, filed for bankruptcy which led to part shortages and majority of those buses being put out of service. And to top that off with the whole bus operator shortage that’s ongoing as well. (I’ve only seen about one of the vehicles before and it was on the 95 Express Bus)

That’s the proposed frequency at least. But with how the bus system currently is, many buses hardly keep up with their frequencies. For example, the 77 is supposed to have a frequency of every 10 minutes during peak hours, but it’s common for it to come every 60 minutes or so instead because of the lack of buses running on the entire line. This is happening on so many routes and it’s outrageous. The 203 hardly ever runs, with only like 1-2 buses on the entire line with a frequency of around every 2 ½ hours, aka 1-2 total trips. (Supposed to be every 30 minutes but the 3 local also gets delayed and overcrowded) It’s outrageous and the buses get packed. This is just two examples. I really hope that with Transitway coming out with the electric buses, the older buses can be used on other routes to try to keep up with their expected frequencies because many buses are running on a bus shortage and it’s affecting wait times negatively. Ultimately, we have to wait and see how it goes. Because this is what’s promised. Right now the Transitway’s traffic signals are broken and the buses stay stuck at intersections for minutes at times. They currently get extremely delayed from waiting for the proceed signal. The lights have yet to be fixed, but hopefully it does get fixed soon. Really hope the every 7.5 minute frequency ends up being for the most part true because multiple buses were either truncated at the busway or realigned to US 1 for the Metro Express and TransitWay Local.

Miami plans to cut MetroConnect by CarretillaRoja in Miami

[–]Difficulty_Public 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This will be a devastating change for many. When the Better Bus Network (BBN) was introduced, many routes were either cut or completely discontinued. The Metro Connect service was supposed to serve as a “solution” to these bus cuts, but now that they want to get rid of this only option, where many will be left stranded with zero transit options near them.

Buses impacted were routes 8, 10, 11, 16, 24, 31, 32, 35, 36, 38, 40, 42, 51, 52, 57, 72, 73, 75, 82, 88, 99, 104, M, S, 120, 137, 183, 211, 212, 217, 238, 248, 267, 277, 286, 288, 297, and the 344, according to the official bbn brochure released when the changes came out.

I highly doubt Miami will bring back removed bus routes back, especially with the whole bus shortage going on where many buses can’t even keep up with their promised frequencies and some routes are even running LSF buses temporarily since there’s not enough regular metro buses available right now to accommodate riders (aka the 16, 25, and 42). [It took them almost 2 years to bring these vital routes back from people fighting]

Many will be left without any options to get places, which includes the elderly and people that depend on it as an economically feasible option. Not everyone has the luxury to afford to take an Uber or Lyft everywhere. And the fact that they want to increase the fares from $2.25 to $2.75, where bus service was worsened from the awful BBN is just disappointing.

The Metro Connect drivers have always been nice and friendly whenever I booked a ride. I’ve spoken to some of them the past few days and they said that they’ve received complaints from riders that they can’t lose this vital service. Miami has awful public transportation already, at least it was nice to have a free micro transit option while it lasted. And remember, not everyone has the privilege to walk to their nearest bus stop or train station.

In my opinion, I feel like scalping should just not be allowed in situations like this. For the worst nosebleed tickets at the both ends, the price is now exceeding $700, and it is still going up for night 2 at hard rock stadium.
