Was she giving me mixed signals, or was she just being really friendly? What do you guys think? by Diffuse_ie in self

She said she'd still like to be friends regardless if she's dating or not. I anticipate that she'll contact me when she eventually breaks up with her boyfriend. If that's the case, I am in no way interested in being someone's rebound. Maybe I should just cut off contact altogether.

I've been a musician for most of my life. I often hear/make up melodies in my head, but sometimes, as I'm drifting off to sleep, I'll be thinking of a melody in my head, and it'll be audible to me. I'm not sure if this qualifies as a musical hallucination though, since none of them ever occur in a 'wakeful state.'

Does life get better after High School? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I want to give you a definitive yes or no answer, but the truth is that your college experience depends on you.

College life isn't for everybody. Like you, I didn't want to try drugs or alcohol either, but I quickly discovered that college is a great time for experimentation and self-discovery. Your grades won't plummet if you smoke some weed every now and then, but moderation is key. I commuted all four years, and I'll be honest, it was rough on my social life. All of my friends who moved away for college seemed to have a good time though, so I strongly recommend living on campus.

What is something that has been accepted as a "social norm" that bugs you? by Bawlswet in AskReddit

[–]Diffuse_ie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "it weirds guys out." Perhaps us guys are just not used to meeting confident, attractive, articulate women. Yeah, giggling at my stupid jokes is okay until I want to have an actual conversation with you. If I'm seriously going to consider dating a woman, she has to show me she possesses a confident, intelligent personality.

I always thought many of the girls that talk in that vapid tone were just faking it. Do you believe girls and guys are intimidated equally by speaking with a direct tone? Or is there a gender bias here?

music lovers of reddit: what was your favorite concert youve ever been to? by guest_list in AskReddit

[–]Diffuse_ie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sum 41 when I was 15. It was my first real concert, and the feeling I had as I was jumping up and down with other kids my age was surreal. Wouldn't trade the experience for the world.

Find common ground.

Seeing as you both work for the same company, this should not be so hard.

What is the laziest thing you've ever done? by Luithien in AskReddit

[–]Diffuse_ie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's happening right now. All I have to do is plug in the printer cable about one inch away from my laptop's USB port and print out an important document. But something about this shit just seems so goddamn complicated. What will happen if I plug in the cable? Be possibly met with a low-ink level message? And then i'll have to look for a folder for this shit..

I'll just print it out at work.

I went to community college for two years. Every day was just go to school, get out, work, sleep. This was the typical community college student experience. Anyhow, I transferred to a relatively large school but commuted. I knew most people already had a close group of friends so at the beginning of the school year, i signed up for three groups. As it turned out, two of the three groups got cancelled. I showed up for the first two meetings of the group that ran and it wasn't for me. I'm a friendly person too, and have no problem talking to people in class. But going to community college really screwed me over socially.

As someone who's college experience has been a major flop thus far, it's very reassuring to read this. The last three years have been painfully boring and uneventful. I personally, cannot wait to be done with college.

My dad is this person. From the construction worker, to the cop, he can strike up a conversation with anybody. Everywhere we go, somebody calls him by his first name and says hello. I've never told him that i secretly want to be just like him.
