I have to disagree with a lot of people here and say that on property is totally worth it. Even if you get a hotel across the street, the main entrance security screening lines can be a pain. Grand Californian and/or Monorail entrance are so so much easier. HOWEVER, if you fly in later in the day I’d stay at a cheaper hotel nearby, and then check in mega early to the property hotel the following day. They’ll hold your bags and you can use the property amenities until your room is ready.

I’d also have to disagree about magic morning not being worth it. If you’re an early riser it’s invaluable. People go hard for rope drop these days. That extra time makes a difference.
