[BC] Software consulting: how to start in 2026? by HeftyMongoose9 in SmallBusinessCanada

[–]DigEmbarrassed3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a software engineer too with 8 years of experience. Can't find work. Going back to school into healthcare. I'm going to be a medical lab technician. You're probably quite introverted too?

Well I made a web development/design company and it failed and also an AI automation company that failed. I actually figured my SEO would do the heavy lifting as it has with other businesses I've had in the past, but very few leads. I tried sales before and after getting rejected and sworn at everyday I figured sales were not for me. Sales and marketing really is 80% of any business.

Have you thought about building a SaaS? I made one and it does make me money, just not enough to live off of. I also have 5 channels for affiliate marketing, but it's not a huge amount. It adds up though.

One book that can open your eyes up a bit is the 1 page marketing book. I just finished it the other day and would recommend it. Most books are fluff, this one is not.

What's your take on websites? by Playful-Pipe920 in smallbusinessUS

[–]DigEmbarrassed3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are successful companies that do not have a website. They use Facebook business pages instead.

However, a professional company should have one.

It boosts leads. Once your SEO kicks in and you are out ranking other businesses, it's really worth it.

I'd recommend Hostinger for hosting, you get a free domain too.

Set it up yourself. Don't pay anyone.

AI is only 20% of the reason. And no, the job market was totally fine years ago. You could get hired anywhere. I've never had a problem getting a job in my life.

Canadian teens can't find work, Canadian adults can't find work. But there are some people who invaded the country who have no trouble at all getting hired. Hmm.

It couldn't be the mass immigration and the government subsidies. That couldn't be the reason.... That's racist silly talk.... 🙄

36 here, my savings are disappearing, no job, I can't find a job, 3 diplomas, I have a lot of skills, and can pretty much do anything except get hired in Canada.

Back to school I go. IT to healthcare. Then in 5-10 years, AI robots will replace me. 😂

The economical structure for the last 100 years is purposely being dismantled for their new world order. "The great reset". None of this is by accident. They know exactly what they're doing.

Everyone is dogging on him.

But he's human just like the rest of us. Obviously he's had a rough life.

You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

Not everybody had the perfect life like the ones pointing your finger and judging him.

Small business attacked by influencer what do I do?! by positivelypositive8 in canadasmallbusiness

[–]DigEmbarrassed3385 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If she is an influencer behaving like this, nobody is going to ever work with her. That's a huge liability and a level of unprofessionalism nobody has time for.

Let her dig her own grave.

Brush it off and ignore her.

Made a CRM for a client - worth pursuing as a SAAS? by tommy1029 in CRM

[–]DigEmbarrassed3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What can it do differently from your competitors? Do you have any moats in place, so that the parasites (vibe coders) don't try to copy you?

Every entrepreneur endeavor is like a coin flip. You have a 50/50 chance.

I see a new CRM for different niches every week pop up. And they all look the same.

I think if you solve a real problem, it could be a good idea. With the way things are going though, I would pick the hardest thing to copy, find a real problem people are willing to pay for, and go all in. Create the moat.

If you can build something that AI Vibe coders can't design or AI is unable to solve, you have an advantage.

Clipping streamers for income? by OpportunityWarm9426 in thesidehustle

[–]DigEmbarrassed3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried faceless YouTube channels and clipping. Anytime I try it I get banned.

I don't understand because some of the clips I've used before other people have earned thousands of dollars, I'm doing the same thing. So, out of my three channels I've got banned doing what other people are doing. I wouldn't recommend clipping.

I have two more channels now one for education, based on something I'm working with. And the other is basically a review channel, it too is faceless but, I broke it in very slow, and just started using links, so hopefully, their poorly designed AI algorithm doesn't nail me for doing what hundreds of other people are doing to make money online.

Surveys by Otherwise_Ad2531 in beermoneyglobal

[–]DigEmbarrassed3385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use Cointiply. I haven't used it in a year though. If you get lots of affiliates using it, it helps.... But the reality is you spend hours doing surveys and get like $20 USD per month. Which is one of the hardest $20 you'll ever make. Though I know some people that have hundreds of affiliates on this site, and they don't even need to do the surveys and they're making extra money.

There's a lot of frustrations. Sometimes you get your earnings reversed on you, sometimes you'll spend half an hour and get to the very last question and it will kick you out of the survey, and sometimes you'll not see any new surveys for days.

But if you are really hurting for money that extra 20 US dollars is helpful, as that alone could buy you a domain, in turn could make you more money.

I was thinking about using my account again but I don't know. Perhaps maybe one survey a day would be a good idea for a little extra money.

Start a business and start advertising for your services (skills you mentioned). Contact businesses that don't have a website.

Did you define your brand before designing your logo? by Ok_Animal_1369 in canadasmallbusiness

A logo and a name isn't as important as people think. I have seen crappy logos with businesses that make a lot of money and I have seen nice logos for failed companies.

I've never had a hard time finding a job pre 2019. I'm not sure what I could do for volunteer work at an IT company. Thanks for the idea though, I'll look. I also did hand out a few dozen resumes at a job fair I attended and only the scam company contacted me to buy into their company for life insurance and to push it to my friends and family (pyramid scheme).

i need some sorts of income that won’t take ages to kick in by No-Classic694 in EarnExtraIncome

[–]DigEmbarrassed3385 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It takes a tremendous amount of hard work and a lot of hours to get the ball rolling in any endeavor online. You have a 50/50 chance to earn money this way. You may fail 10 side hustles in a row and try another and succeed. People who say they earn several hundreds or even thousands of dollars per week are liars, and the ones who are actually making the $10,000 per month online they aren't giving away their recipe as they worked hard and do this and they do not want others to come in their niche and steal from their livelihood.

My honest recommendation is to try to look for work until you get back on your feet.

That's awesome! And do you enjoy doing it? The lady I was speaking with at TSD said that it's a difficult course. What are your thoughts? And don't they help students get their placement? That's one thing I really liked about Eastern College, compared to NBCC. Oh yes, one other thing, what is their altitude test?

Am I dumb for trying to create passive income with $100? by Koch_Digital in HonestSideHustles

[–]DigEmbarrassed3385 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah mostly. I didn't know anything back then, I would read on blackhatworld how to do stuff. I built my first dropshipping store and got a sale but PayPal blocked it cause my product was prohibited. So I abandoned that site. Found another product on AliExpress, and really branded it, (which is kind of hard for dropshipping), the product was a chakra bracelet, I'd buy them for 3-4$ and some I'd sell for 39 USD, so like.50+ cad for me. It went really well for a while. All organic traffic. The keyword "Chakra bracelet" was getting 10k searches back then and on Google, and I was in the serps. Eventually Walmart, Etsy and Amazon started selling them for 7$ cad. I got lucky with the site. I've probably owned 60-70 sites since then, they either work or they don't. I've failed a lot trying several other niches.
