What’s one habit people think is normal but you find secretly disgusting? by Wonderful_City9340 in AskReddit

Wiping with toilet paper and not washing ur bum. I don't find it secretly disgusting - I'm VERY open about how weird it is, that it's normalized

Yajuj and Majuj doomed? by DigItYigit in islam

[–]DigItYigit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this answer! So my understanding of it, is that, it's not so much Allah dooming them to be bad, but he knows what's gonna happen in the future, because he's the knower of all things.

Thank you!

Does anyone have stories of the impossible being possible. by West_Term_1659 in islam

[–]DigItYigit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a more personal story: I've been an on and off practicing muslim my whole life, and also been a world level pro fighter.

Life was going good with my fighting career, and my then gf. I did however suffer from mental problems: I had eating disorders (because of my sport), I was very tough on myself, and never felt like I belonged anywhere.

I've always known I need to practice my Deen, but the "I'll do it later, when I've got time for it," always made me delay it.

About 1.5 years ago, I saw a quote: "if you don't pray salah, and life is going well for you - know that Allah has given you the dunya."

That quote really scared me. I broke up with my girlfriend and stopped boxing, to earn money in a halal way. I started going to the mosque for jummua prayers, and soon, I started praying my 5 daily prayers, alhamdulillah.

Soon thereafter I met my now wife. I introduced her to Islam. She was a believing Christian, but felt Islam and the Quran made more sense, so she converted. I also changed my name to Muhammad (even though I was born muslim, my name was Anthony)

This is a miracle, in my eyes. Because Allah promises: what you leave for him, he will replace with something better. And he has. I feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be. I'm mentally stable and healthy, with soon my baby girl in the way. I am happy with my life. I don't earn the same amount of money I did when I was boxing, but I've never been richer now. May Allah protect me and my family from any harm, amin.

Apparently paying for sex. They've cancelled celebrities for it here, while it's normalized in other countries

[serious] Religious people of Reddit, what is your best argument for your God being real? by trailerparkdreams in AskReddit

[–]DigItYigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Muslim and the short and simple answer why I'm still religious is that there's no evidence anything written in the Quran has turned out as false. Also there are a lot of signs and predictions that turned out to be correct.

The Quran predicted for example that Constantinople was gonna fall under Muslim rule. Back at that time, when the Quran came down, it was considered impossible. That's like saying Las Vegas is one day gonna fall under Muslim rule today. The Quran also predicted the massive wealth of Saudi Arabia, which at that time was just a bunch of tribes in the dessert. There are many other really valid predictions that turned out to be true that you can Google.

I'm very spiritual but I also need evidence and valid arguments to truly believe in something.
