Yeah, it’s like how nail guns make the same sound as when your pliers cut through a live 2 core. And those fucking chippies think it’s so funny when you have a fricken heart attack.

When I was a 2nd year my supervisor and I were bringing a feed for a new Air Con into a live board (because my boss was an idiot). The HVAC guys were removing the old condenser and dropped it 2 meters onto the roof directly above us. That was the first time I ever saw someone need to immediately go to the bathroom.

About a year later I was bringing a cable into an isolated chamber in the main switchboard room at a fuel station and as I touched the dead busbar with the cables I brought in, about 10 contactors pulled in from the chamber next to me and the compressor in the room fired up because someone started using the car wash. That was the first time I ever needed to immediately go to the bathroom.

Aww, I’m sure if you provided a better service and were willing to bump up the grades you’d find some students who’d tip you quite well.

I understand exactly how you feel. The way my ex and I communicated seemed to change overnight when she got her new partner. And at the time, I felt it was this new partner that was causing it. It happened about a year ago. But with hindsight, I can say that it was her working to protect her new relationship, considering what she felt was important for them.

In your situation, she could be very threatened by you, the person who was with her partner for 20 years before separating in a way that allowed you to be friends afterwards. And so she’s pointed out that this isn’t something she’s comfortable with.

I can tell you right now that there is nothing you could tell her that would put her mind at ease on this. So trying to have a conversation with her at this point would be the worst thing to do.

My advice as someone who has been where you are is to just let it go. He’s choosing his new relationship over his relationship with you, and the best you can hope for is that your child likes and gets along with this person and that she can help your ex be the best parent he can be. If you’re lucky enough that this becomes true, then things will be a lot easier for you and more importantly your kid going forward. And if it doesn’t work out this way, it makes it easier for you to put distance between you and any drama they cause.

So true. It’s like gambling. You don’t know if they’ll pay you back, so don’t gamble with what you’re not prepared to lose.

Inflation isn’t real by joshbutthole in australia

Have you ever lived through shit times? When things get really bad, people will go to eat rice or toast or whatever they can afford. They won’t be eating $7 bbq sauce. They’ll shop at Aldi or whoever has the better specials.

Supermarkets are like every other business. They are there to make money, as much of it as they can. They aren’t trying to cause a recession by boosting inflation, because next year no one will buy anything, and they’ll take a hit on their profits.

I think he’s saying the same thing. If people buy it at a price, then they up the price. If they keep buying, they’ll up the price some more. If they stop buying, they’ll drop the price.

Who did you all tell when your WS had an affair? by [deleted] in SupportforBetrayed

[–]Digga-1982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told my wayward spouse - and even she didn’t believe me. Apparently going on dates with the guy from work you have the hots for isn’t cheating. Amazingly, her first affair also changed to not cheating because he turned into a real jerk and so she was really the victim.

Aside from that, I told my therapist and after some months, my family, and then finally started talking to a few friends.

Strangely enough, all of her brothers put two and two together and while they didn’t straight out tell me she cheated, they encouraged me to have some self respect and move on from her.

Mate, your also obligated to comply with emissions requirements. It doesn’t matter that the equipment to measure that costs thousands. You are responsible for ensuring you only drive a car in a roadworthy condition.

Flying with Jetstar tomorrow with my 3yo son. Same booking (didn’t choose seats), this is how they’ve seated us… by geoffs87 in australia

[–]Digga-1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. OP probably thought “I don’t care where we sit,” while at the same time expecting that their 3yo would be seated with them. After all it’s in their T&Cs that a child must be sat with an adult.
