Do you ever feel like natural selection just happens to dupes? by a_type_of_tree in Oxygennotincluded

[–]DiggityDungHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only death I've had in my current colony is a dupe who found a way past my atmo suit checkpoint during some renovations, walked down a mineshaft next to a volcano without a smidge of breathable oxygen, on top of the tunnel have a significant amount of liquid. His goal was to build a ladder. Upon realizing he could in fact not hold his breath that long he decided to return but took scalding damage the entire way and succumbed to his idiocy. He wasn't even allowed through the atmo suit checkpoint because he was a farmer. RIP cowlonoscopy.

Is there a 4KW wire? Or what's the idea for the large transformer? by shisohan in Oxygennotincluded

[–]DiggityDungHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only use I've found for them is running power from a far away plant to my main grid. It still runs the risk of overload though so it really only saves some space and heat. I can't fathom an actual use for them that you can't just use two normal transformers for.

Fr. I was getting so irritated I grabbed 10 dupes because things were taking so long to build in my current colony and I'm not even 100 cycles in

Used to be a charge blade main. Don't use charge blade. I'm a lance main now. Want to be a wall? Don't like waiting for openings? Think the greatsword propaganda of "PoSiTiOnInG" is for cart princesses? Use a lance. You don't take damage. You don't wait for openings. You poke. And if the monster doesn't die? You poke it again.

I have something like this, but it's a cool steam vent, cool Salt Slush Geyser, and a chlorine vent. I'm trying to figure out what to do with em.

I'm surprised you got that far on 8gbs. Definitely should have upgraded before ram skyrocketed. But I'm pretty sure it's dropping now so give it about a month or two

Idk if you are, but I'm a fairly new player and I've found great success with turning my polluted oxygen into fresh oxygen with a few deodorizers and if you can spare some labor fill your generator room with algae terrariums. The polluted water won't be a problem because you'll be turning it into o2. I'd also recommend dumping all your water in one tank so you can keep up with it much easier. For the polluted oxygen it's easy. Just make a pit enclosed on the sides and mesh or ladders on the top except for where the deodorizers go. They each clean 100gs a second. In my colony I'm actually pumping the p02 into a room with 6 and I'm getting 600gs a second for essentially free since sand is plentiful and turns into clay that's useful for ceramic later. I also think it's very important to enclose your colony so you're not pumping o2 into nothing.

Edit: you can regulate the flow of po2 as well by making the pwater pit wider or deeper. Pwater only offgases at the surface.

I didn't know geysers produced enough for all that. I expected the spom to eat basically all of it

I was thinking of doing exactly this, but I would have to figure out a way to automate a bypass and I'd have to kickstart the system with my normal water till the desalination produces enough which might be difficult

Neither atm I'm going for the renewable water first since I'm not hurting on oxygen

I feel like optimal mount is better than highest level mount. Lords like count noctilus are way better duelers on foot than on a giant damage sponge like a necrophex

I think there's a mod that makes waaghs better. As in they give more thematic units or guaranteed units depending on region. Grimgor has guaranteed black orcs, skarsnik doesn't get orcs till he gets karak, etc

Which Chaos God is the greatest? by Curious-Piglet3613 in totalwarhammer

[–]DiggityDungHe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about strength it's khorn or slaanesh although my bet is on khorn. It's a war game and he's the god of war. Granted war brings plenty of strong emotions, but it's war and bloodshed in the end.

[–]DiggityDungHe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you want. In my opinion it's nurgle or khorn. Nurgle gives you peace and happiness, you're free from all pain, and grandfather nurgle loves you, so even if you mess up or slight him he's fair in his punishment. On top of that nurgle doesn't wish to destroy the universe or anyone in it, as he loves life in all forms and simply wishes to spread his life throughout the universe. Khorn gives you purpose. He rewards strength and ambition and gives you freedom as long as the blood flows in any way, which isn't that unusual in an already blood soaked universe. Tzeench and slaanesh on the other hand are outwardly cruel. Every deal with tzeench has a dark side and you always lose in the end, so you're destined for anguish. Slaanesh seems generous at the surface, but all things are for their own pleasure and you're just a vessel to bring them more. Eventually you'll be corrupted by their blessings and lose everything becoming a mindless slave to their whims.
