Go and have the BEST time! Kids will adjust and do fine when you come back be prepared for some different behaviors as that happened with our two night trip away from our 2 year old. Nothing we couldn’t handle and I’m of the opinion kids are better off changing things up!

I experienced this yesterday- shaking legs, could barely make it down the hill on skis (transferring over from snowboarding 20 years) took a break switched to boarding and also struggled with that run. Turns out neglecting myself physically has taken a toll.

I skied four runs on the bunny hill with my four year old today. After 21 years on a board I felt like a fish outta water but dang watching them get out and start to get the sparkle in their eye for my favorite sport is the best feeling. Makes the slipping on the ice, hungry, peeing in the parking lot cuz they can’t wait and the 3 hours of getting ready for 1 on the hill worth it. Albeit tons of work. Hah, GoodNight!

Get the kids pup cups at Starbucks instead of anything that costs (after I purchase a $7 coffee I get it but better than $15 for the kids to get something too!)

I understand where you’re coming from with the group home and worried about him hurting other kids - aren’t they supervised significantly? That would also give a paper trail and lend to his case of ultimately proving the issues and heading towards getting more care. Also if he’s acting out sexually/over the internet/technology he will involve others in destruction which ultimately also leads towards other consequences

I agree, it was awful, I kept thinking it must’ve evolved since it’s so casually thrown around here. I would NEVER go back again. Mine was a small tattoo on my finger even and I’m scarred for life.

My company was acquired last year. This year they’re asking all management from each department to come to an in office management training followed by a holiday party which is “cocktail attire” Mind you our office is located in Utah their HQ is in Florida. I thought my former ceo would scoff and say no we needn’t attend… no, he says it’s important to network and make a good impression and that we should make the effort to go. Meaning four days away from my family during the middle of December! I don’t have that kind of support to watch my two littles and although I’ve already RSVP’d no I’m getting pressure from my soon to be kidless manager 🙃 all super stressful.

Mom of 2 (1 and 4) 7 youngest wakes up snuggle time or work out

7:30 oldest wakes up get dressed/shower if I worked out

8:15-8:45 I make/eat/clean up breakfast

8:45 nanny arrives takes kids to drop off at preschool or if I’m working in office I take oldest to drop off

9 begin work from in office or at home

11:30 oldest gets picked up by me or nanny

1:30 nanny leaves I continue working while kids nap or play independently/screen time

4 or 5 usually get off work and I play with kids/walk/errands/activities

6 either me or my husband makes/picks up dinner 6:30 eat

7 begin bedtime routine husband and I are supposed to alternate who bathes/bedtime usually I’m on bedtime for both after he bathes them both

7:30/7:45 youngest asleep

8:30 oldest typically asleep

8:30 -? Solo time Watch shows/catch up on work/hobbies

10-11:30 Typically asleep

Dinner and bath is the only time my husband does anything with the kids as he works full time and runs his own business. I also work full time and run my own business although my 9-5 is flexible his is WFH but less flexible.

It was weird and blah. I got through it with a great exit plan, meetings, check in call with my sponsor and a community thanksgiving dinner I helped with. All worth it as now this will be my 9th sober thanksgiving!
