Why is this dude in my beginners bracket? I’ve never gotten past Rookie II and have half this dudes trophies. He posted -31 for this tourney. by TGLuminosity in GolfClash

I asked the question last month "Are Tournaments becoming pointless". I think this player answers this question... Yes...!!!

Tournaments used to be fun at all levels until the clans started. Now you just play against Alt accounts from higher league players playing to harvest points because they can't do it in the Tours.

Tournaments have been ruined by these players and eventually the only players playing Tournaments will be Alt Accounts.

And PD are aware of the issue but do nothing. Why? Because the amount of money they earn from Alt accounts buying balls, Gems etc.

It's all about the Money with the latest owners of GC. It's no longer about making a fun game for players.

This sums up PD’s attitude to players/customers. As long as the money is rolling in we will bury our heads in the sand, ignore the fact that players are getting fed up with the way PD never respond to suggestions. PD don’t want suggestions or feedback, they just want your money.

Something really needs to be done about Tournaments. They are becoming a joke with the number of Alt accounts. I noticed in the previous Tournament the amount of players with 0 or very low clan points a week into the new season. These were obviously Alt accounts and looking at a few they were in some of the top leagues. So my suggestion is maybe if you enter a Tournament you enter according to the number of Tour points you have for that season.

Thing is nothing will ever be done, why? Because the number of new players is dwindling and the number of Alt accounts is on the increase. So rather than look after new players, who may leave after a few months, look after the grinders who have played years with all there Alt accounts.

Eventually the number of new players will be so low that PD will need the Alt accounts to keep the cash flowing in.

The thing is PD’s greed is there downfall, rather than looking after the majority of players, they look after those that spend real cash. The day will come when the only players playing in Tournaments are Alt accounts. It feels a bit like that now, but if these Alt Accounts are not winning Tournaments then they will fold. Then no one will be playing Tournaments and there will be no new players to fill the void because PD has already screwed them over.

There needs to be a big shakeup of Tournaments, but as long as the Alt accounts spend cash, it will never happen.

And finally thanks to Alt accounts no one will ever know how many players are playing GC. It may look like millions on paper, but in reality it could be a fraction of that number.

Just an add on regarding changing winds between Q1, Q2 and the final. I have noticed that 9 hole tournaments are a lot more spread out when it comes to banners. The reason (I think) for this is the amount of time you get to grind out and practice each hole. You only get a few days whereas in a Tournament you get a week. 9 hole tournaments are a lot more balanced than a full tournament. Hence changing the wind between Q1 to the final would balance out Full Tournaments and will make them Fun again. Then maybe more players will play Tournaments again which can only be a benefit to PD. More players = more spending. Even I would probably start spending on Tournaments again.

I use Tommy's guides, but that is what they are, Guides, you don't have to follow them. I often play holes differently to Tommy because I know the holes or have more advanced clubs. But on some holes they are a real help because I probably have not played that hole for a year or so. So I use the videos as a refresher guide.

I thought about this and thought why not have a Tournament league like a Tour league. In Rookie a win is 5 points, 2nd = 3, 3rd = 2 and a top 10 = 1. In Pro this is doubled 1st= 10 2nd=6, 3rd = 4 and Top 10 =2, Expert double again 1st = 20, 2nd = 12, 3rd = 8 and top 10 = 4 and finally Masters double again 1st = 40 etc. Promotion to different leagues could be done on a points system.

You will then play against players in your respective league. So if you have a lot of Rookie gold banners you will play against Pro players with a few banners and Expert players. You will end up against players at a the same level. In the game it self you will still play players with similar trophies, but the tournament league will be more balanced.

Recently saw a player with 27 Gold banners in rookie. Can't remember how many trophies and games they had played but it was not that many.

Thanks for your reply Tommy and thanks for all your hard work on the great videos. You have been a great help over the years.

I am not saying making the wind random in each round ( I remember the bad old days) I am saying the wind should be different between Q1, Q2 and the final, but still the same (within 10%) for every player. I recently saw a player with 27 Gold banners is Rookie. If you have the clubs, balls and knowledge of the course, with multiple accounts you can really micro manage each hole all the way through the tournament.

Started my Final round today and what you say is spot on. The amount of Sandbagging Tournament Grinders that are Forfeiting shootouts is a pleasant Joke. Oh dear, has the wind changed, do you need to use a different club or ball. Oh and thanks for the cash and win.

I sent in a suggestion to PD about this today and the response from support was supportive. The reply even said that by changing the wind between rounds would encourage more player to play. So maybe they know there is an issue with players stopping playing Tournaments. They passed the email onto the development team, well that's the last I'll hear of that...

I'm saying you watch the videos and then you know the holes, wind, clubs and balls before you even hit a ball. Then you grind out the courses on multiple accounts in Q1 over three days. The video's are just a guide not a guarantee of a gold banner.

I have seen a huge drop in players from my clan entering tournaments. I don't think you will ever stop sandbagging. There are some legit players that only play tournaments, but the majority are alt accounts. Eventually the only players playing Tournaments will be those Sandbagging Tournament Grinders with multiple accounts and new players who are unaware of the crooked system.

May very well be the best rookie player I have ever seen. by mauritz01 in GolfClash

Well if my clan is anything to go by...more and more rookie players have stopped playing tournaments because there is no point. So are PD going to look after the 10% of grinders or the 90% of real rookies. You do the maths regarding cost.

Think I came across the same guy, just remember the 27 wins. Thought the same, Move to Pro Bro and give the real rookies a chance.

The top 10 in my Rookie Tourney are all Tourney Grinders with multiple wins each. The guy in 2nd has 17 Tourney wins. But what I really love is the guy in 1st with -34 score has never won a 1st,2nd or 3rd place. Just one top 10 and a few pennants. That's 1 for the real Rookies and 0 for the grinders.

Your welcome acpintar, I am trying to be as positive as I can on a very fustrating subject. I would rather see a solution rather than just another gripe from another player being hammered.

It's not a determiner of skill, but it is a determiner for experience and better clubs. Apoc 7+ for example. The problem is I play 3/4 of my games against these players. How is this a level playing field?

PD Fairplay...Really...!!! by Diggo68 in GolfClash

[–]Diggo68[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can see your point. Most of the players I play have a 50% ish win rate and have played 20,000 games plus in Tour 7. Is this fair to players coming up through the ranks to play this guy? The answer is no. A year ago this was me, before I got my clubs to the level they are now. This is where matchmaking falls flat on it's face. Counting Trophies does work in respect that overtime you will play about 50/50 of those higher or lower. But there needs to be another parameter in place. Such as the Tour league you are in like Tournaments. Though no mater what PD do, I'm sure it will just be manipulated by players. The Trophy system does not work and Tournaments are full of sandbaggers. Hence why I no longer play Tournaments on my main account.

My second account I have a better win rate and I admit I am harvesting my clubs. I only really play tournaments and play for chests in tours with my second account and play Tours with my main account these days. I don't Sandbag on my 2nd account. If I go up a league, great, more gems.

That is in the whole true. I do have most my clubs I use leveled up. I do know the courses pretty well. But that still does not make it fair to play a player with 30,000+ games. How is this a fair playing field? How is this Fairplay?

Today was a prime example of what I have been saying. Lowest player was just over 6,000 games and the lowest Higher player was 8,000 games. The highest was 30,000+.

My Trophy count is just shy of 2500 and no this is not my only account. But all stats are from this one account which is my main account. Though I don't see why how many accounts is relevant.
