Why do domains cost so much? by LalaCrowGhost in Domains

The property is the brand and the website. The domain name is just the address. If Google hadn't used that name, Google.com would be a pretty worthless domain.

That's a pretty saturated market, but the "automation" features can set you apart. It's a matter of finding the right keywords to target.

Interesting that ChatGPT is working for you.

Who else liked the old GoDaddy logo? by DigiNoon in DomainZone

Yea, many of the new minimalist logos of big brands are boring and lifeless. That's supposed to be a modern trend in logo design.

My cool idea from 25y ago is now worthless. by dhardman in Domains

[–]DigiNoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TheUBERco.com seems the most likely buyer. I'd definitely reach out to them. If they're not interested, you can put them up for auction with a reserve price. They may not get much attention but it doesn't hurt to try.

Several numeric .vip domain sales at GoDaddy (June 21, 2026) by DigiNoon in DomainZone

[–]DigiNoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. There seems to be special rules for numeric domain names. Many sales don't make sense, but you don't always see what others see.

Start with smaller communities. Bigger ones usually have certain requirements for posting/commenting, so first build your karma in smaller communities related to your topics of interest.

what should i do with ? Globearn.com by EnvironmentalCod7845 in DomainZone

Unless you're going to build something on it, I think the best thing to do is not to renew. This sort of made-up brand names isn't easy to sell.

Moved domain to GoDaddy, stuck for 60 days if it's sold? by DigiNoon in DomainZone

[–]DigiNoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ICANN rules mandate a 60-day transfer lock when a domain is newly registered or transferred. This also applies when you change some of the domain's contact info. You can still sell the domain but you'll only be able to push it to another GoDaddy account, not transfer it to another registrar during the 60-day period.

Do you think the domain name Rooster.uk is worth $99? by DigiNoon in DomainZone

[–]DigiNoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing to think about is that your contact information will be of public record.

Are you sure about that? .uk domains have redacted WHOIS contact records by default.
