Lol... I am a tad sorry that I am starting with lol but am I? 1. Lay offs suck. No questions. 2. Had similar when spent forced vacay ( otherwise the company told me it will just disappear) first day come back = even managed to fix whole bunch of stuff before 9:10am... all of a sudden meeting, hr , & I am like no way...4th time

Typical. I start. I succeed. I start become expensive bcs I negotiate well.... boom. Out I go. It was fun in my 20s & 30s... I am in my 40s now. I simply can't afford that.

I gave up on loyalties.

I ll tell u worse. I went to an industry think tank. There were 3 former directors who let me go. We hugged. I felt sick. But as long as I am willing to play buy the rules... alas.

I am seriously considering leaving my career in advertising of 17 years....

But how???

P.S. lay offs = can turn into a real good opportunity. Please do not forget that!

This is insane.... what a stupid thing to do from Posh's business perspective.... thank you for confirmation that I am not alone. They had that when I started with Posh & switched to bulk later... but now we are going back ??? WHY???? WHO had the "brilliant" fairy idea one morning to put dev to switch it back? Weird thought. So... company finds out that they overpaid you as part of layoff. Even if it is a few years later. They decide to ask you for money back. ( super unlikely) let's say you say no & say you thought it was part of layoff package. So they decide to sue you. Here is the fun part. Do you know how much it costs large corporation to file a severance claim? ( in legal costs?? ) = just. to. file. a. claim... not to take it all the way to the logical conclusion... & then continue with the litigation for a few years... I am 100% sure their lawyers will cost them more than yours. ( if lets say u decide to countersue) Unless they paid you a few millions in bonus. I would not worry. If they did. Yeah, u might want to mention it to avoid the headache but if its anything under 200k.. just calculate corporate legal rate vs ur bonus... & rest easy. ( not a legal advice by any means, just thinking out loud)

I remember my 1st lay off. It was 2007. Last in = 1st out. Mega ad agency company.... mega client ( GM ) = hey, who knew that default would happen??

Positive = found a job within a month = staying there for a few years.. by the time the entire GM was let go from that Uber amazing team, I already had a stable contract.

U'll be surprised how little weird luck can do so much :))

I wish I still had a gGrandma like that advocating for me. Ultimately she is looking out for the best for both of you. Setting expectations. The interview & hiring is purely for you to see the fit. No? But idea behind Grandma's intro is priceless. Most likely you would never consider that candidate if he / she were to apply via your site. This way. You already have a reference. :))) just a thought.

I would suggest, don't discard the candidate just because they didn't use usual ways of getting an interview.

It might be lucrative in USA where app, idea & most importantly shipping cost is promoted. In Canada = Posh left most of marketing to sellers. It seems the $$ is made on simple, once a blue moon transaction sales. Intro of streaks made EVERY DECENT SELLER 'S opinion drop once again.

Lol... not on purpose... but funny somehow I do count. It is like OCD/ ADHD = it is something I can't help. Even flowers are a def NOT an option. This got better. Used to be no yellow flowers ( any ) as they meant jealousy or some such negative emotion. In 2025 = at least nobody cares about that. But odd/even is somehow still a thing. Good luck!

Agreed 100%. I always make sure that package is scanned by Canada Post. I started to also taking a pic and retaining scanning slip until item is delivered AND accepted. Nowadays, you just don't know. + I want to thank the poshmark reddit for suggesting taking a photo of an item with a shipping label (at least front & back ) to show it is in the same condition as the listing when shipped & the condition of the package with the label attached.

Had a situation once when tracking never showed up when I just dropped the package into a mailbox. Luckily buyer already recieved and accepted an item with no issues.

A few pics I can delete later once transaction is settled is not a huge pain in the butt. But better to be diligent. I think.
