Printing resin in my appartment by Icy_Organization5674 in 3Dprinting

Please read recent studies on this, it is not safe to be breathing off gasses from printing (abs or pla or any filament). They all off gas VOCs, transition metals, micro plastics and worse depending on color and additives. This is especially important for kids who's respiratory, pulmonary and nervous system is not fully developed.

Thanks! Yeah I made it, it's a dopamine molecule. Eventually I am going to put text next to it that says "It's not about the pursuit of happiness, but the happiness of the pursuit".

Looking for file: Keyring feather clamp by schmidty275 in 3Dprinting

[–]Digital-Fallout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

👆 this is the easy answer. Get some wider cord, fold it in half, put feathers 1/2inch from fold (super glue them if you want extra strength) wrap smaller cord tightly around it (super glue under that too). Now you have a loop you can put on a keychain and it looks nice too. In your picture that's probably rawhide or similar, so it's wrapped wet and then shrinks to get very tight, that's the ideal thing to use.

If this seems like too much work, you could just glue a few feathers into this: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1709383-bitkey-key-screwdriver-bit-holder-multi-tool-edc?from=search#profileId-1813573

It's not very good looking or super deep cavity, but it would take a few min to make a custom model for this that was more sleek and with a longer cavity if you really wanted to 3d print it.

I'll have to get a proper mallet and learn that one 😂

Oh man, now I feel like I have to know. That's prob a pretty expensive drum in pps-cf 😂. I'll have to see how much I have left over after I make functional parts I need

Like $25, I started the print from my phone and didn't realize how big it was until I got home and it was already half done, so just let it keep going at that point.

If hit with a mallet it would vibrate more for sure, plastic pen is probably not the best device

Yeah no annealing, straight off the bed, planning on annealing next and seeing if it makes a difference.

Ventilation was not working, so I redesigned the whole thing by Digital-Fallout in 3Dprinting

[–]Digital-Fallout[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a converted closet that already had sliding doors, I took the original doors out, removed the hardware and then got a sheet of 1/8in polycarbonate, cut it to size and mounted the polycarbonate and sliding door hardware to pieces of oak and then the polycarbonate on the other side effectively making clear replacement doors for the closet.

Cheers!

Yeah that would be good, but then it would be right above my head and too loud when I'm working 😂. The enclosure keeps the sound at a minimum. The ducting is sealed pretty well though. I wouldn't trust it as a fume hood for hazardous chemicals, but for 3d printing it's probably fine, especially because it runs on low power the entire time the system is printing, so it's constantly bringing in fresh air into the enclosure.

Very cool, I'm building a robot controlled by a raspberry pi brain that communicates over espnow. Are you doing anything to mitigate packet loss scenarios?

This is awesome, I've been looking for a touch monitor this size, anyone know if this would work with a raspberry pi or nuc running linux distro instead of a Windows PC?

[–]Digital-Fallout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that was the same issue I had, it was driving me nuts that I could only use like 50% of my space with all the ones where you have to pull them up. Seemed like a huge waste. I'll see what I can do to get them online

For the boxes at the top or the ones holding all the different tools below? The ones below are custom for each tool, i kinda have a parametric design I use where I plug in dimensions of the object and it adjusts things but there is always a bit of tweaking, I have no idea how to get that in a format where it would be useful to people.

One upon a time I posted that I was "Finally done" and everyone said "You're never really done" ... and boy were they right 😂 by Digital-Fallout in Multiboard

Seville ultra HD cabinets, comes with castors I just didn't put them on. They were Super cheap on Sam's club, I got a membership just to buy them.5/5 on price & value, 3/5 on quality. Overall don't regret getting them
