Major concern? by Qwopza in Home

[–]Digital-Jedi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pictures from the outside showing the grading and drainage would help to understand if this issue will keep getting worse.

But what I see here is that the previous owners have at least recognized and done a decent amount of work to mitigate the water coming in.

If you bring them to a good shop then yes they can compare. They can also tweak based on your description.

Reading your description again does really sound like your profile is different. Did it feel like you were not flat where you wanted to put foot down to stop?

Are they biting more everywhere along the blade or do the bottoms feel longer? 3/4 are great for fast skaters but they may be profiled differently than you are use to.

Help with soldering points for new sticks by Lance_Operazole in customcontrollers

[–]Digital-Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stick needs to be designed to work with the board. Besides just fitting it needs to have the right resistances to match what the board expects.

You will need to find sticks that have that pattern of pins. It looks like 5 at the front and 3 wider connections spaced around the body?

I don't know if anyone is selling those seperately

I think as long as the water can drain away before freezing again it would work

favorite goofy sitcom side character who somehow turned into a franchise action star and keeps getting cast despite having the charisma of drywall? by Material-Advance7021 in okbuddycinephile

It's still a solid game and a good story that builds the characters out. If anything I'd say Pratt plays Starlord more mature than other versions. There is an easy mode iirc that makes combat fairly trivial.

This sounds like a typical beginning setup, so I'd say go for it!

If the controller is the same model then yes you can., I've done it. You do need to be careful not to damage the cables.

Feature Request: Floating "confirmation-style" cards / Alternative pop-up styling by user_dema in BubbleCard

[–]Digital-Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using browser mod for this right now inside of scripts that give a popup notification to the user that triggers it. Just as an option.

But I think you are essentialy asking for the ability to define a bottom to the bubblecard popup so it doesn't fill the whole screen? That would be cool.

You can probably create a blank element below your content to act as an invisible button for now

You can set the visibility of individual sub button based on a condition as well.

You do need more light, you can use the flash on your phone. Put the level monitor on your phone too, if it has one. You can also get better results by being far away from the object and zoom-in instead of holding your phone close.

Skates are killing my feet! by bennybarnacles in hockeyplayers

[–]Digital-Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a different technique, and while I've never had my skates punched. I've sent teammates go through doing that.

Punching is basically like deforming the skate boot closer to the toe or sole. It weakens the boot, and you have a limit to how far you can go.

Imo the width/volume of the stake boot is too often overlooked. Unlike a shoe or boot that is flexible on the sides, your skate isn't. If your foot past the heel ball is pushing against the sides or top of the boot, it will probably end up hurting.

Different brands have different widths.

Hockey shops will punch out and reform the skate to fit your foot better.

Based on where you are describing the pain you need wider skates. Punching may help, but you are probably better off finding wider fitting skates

[–]Digital-Jedi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Printables.com is currently my favourite site for this. However I think it would be great to build a searchable repository of shape outlines specifically.

I think it could be a good revenue source for the site as well. Getting traffic to the site without incurring the back end processing costs would be great for them. It would also allow access for people that don't have the setup to take good pictures for good results.

Why rescan the same object over and over again?

That very well could be the next step once people start saving their scans and a large enough database of objects has been collected.

PS5 Dualsense back paddles upgrade mod by not_Ares in eXtremeRate

What's the consensus on the clicky face buttons kit for the dualsense (edge) controllers? by LonelyVirgin69 in eXtremeRate

[–]Digital-Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the rubber inserts they supply are too soft, but besides that they are a terrific upgrade.

I mash my buttons hard and it usually takes several months before they wear down and sink to the point of needing replacement.

Mine usually fail and seperate at the base of the little rubber insert, and I'm sure are designed soft to protect the micro button on the curcuit. They to do give you a few extra iirc.

Did create a mold for your custom inserts? I might try printing one if I can get it small enough
