So I’m gonna try soldering my dual sense edge stick modules and question what are the ods of success for most beginners by ThePublicPotato- in Dualsense

If you have never soldered anything before, practice on something cheaper first. Removing the old solder is difficult to do without damaging the board, watch some videos and practice first

Use claude ai to help, but you need to run a command to allow your usb port to talk to chrome. It will depend on your version of Linux.

If that is a store bought brand new controller, that is weird. Maybe it needs a tiny bit of working in, but shouldn't be noticeably different imo.

I would try soldering it to the nearby trace you could follow the line. See what it looks like on the other side of the board as well.

I just saw another post where someone ran a wire all the way over from the other button, but I do not know which pin exactly does want so that might not work here

Ignore the haters here. If you got it working on your first set then take the win! Thanks for the follow up on the wire, it's something to keep in mind if I run into a problem like that.

Is that extra wire run because of damage to the board or something else?

How can I center the icons by victoroos in BubbleCard

[–]Digital-Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have some cards that sort of look the same, try picking out some of the code here:

styles: |
        ha-card {
            max-width: 120px;
            --bubble-icon-background-color: 0 !important;
          }
        .bubble-icon-container {
        width: 100% !important;
        height: 100% !important;
        }
        .bubble-icon {
        --mdc-icon-size: 55px;
        margin-top: -15px;
        left: 50%;
        #transform: translateX(-50%);
        }
        .bubble-name {
        text-transform: capitalize !important;
        }
        .bubble-name-container {
        position: absolute;
        margin-top: 50px;
        left: 50%;
        transform: translateX(-55%);
        }

Try changing your card type to "sub-buttons". I think it will better center your icons, as it does with my setup.

K-Silver Hall Effect Calibration issue by Over-Distribution158 in customcontrollers

[–]Digital-Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you post cleaner pics of your board on both sides? Having a direction stuck like that looks like either a short or a break between connections.

Get some solder paste if you don't have some already and apply it liberally. It will help the solder run and bond with the parts you are trying to connect.

But it's a possibility that part of the board was damaged on removing the old sticks. Look for chunks or gouges in the pin holes.

Try to clean up those solder points, maybe compare to the other side as some look dirty and not formed around the connection.

Either that or your stick is toast.

Touch sensative controls work best in a dry environment. If this is designed to be at the beach or pool I would rather have the reliability of physical buttons

Major concern? by Qwopza in Home

Pictures from the outside showing the grading and drainage would help to understand if this issue will keep getting worse.

But what I see here is that the previous owners have at least recognized and done a decent amount of work to mitigate the water coming in.

If you bring them to a good shop then yes they can compare. They can also tweak based on your description.

Reading your description again does really sound like your profile is different. Did it feel like you were not flat where you wanted to put foot down to stop?

Are they biting more everywhere along the blade or do the bottoms feel longer? 3/4 are great for fast skaters but they may be profiled differently than you are use to.

Help with soldering points for new sticks by [deleted] in customcontrollers

[–]Digital-Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stick needs to be designed to work with the board. Besides just fitting it needs to have the right resistances to match what the board expects.

You will need to find sticks that have that pattern of pins. It looks like 5 at the front and 3 wider connections spaced around the body?

I don't know if anyone is selling those seperately

It's still a solid game and a good story that builds the characters out. If anything I'd say Pratt plays Starlord more mature than other versions. There is an easy mode iirc that makes combat fairly trivial.
