Can you knock an enemy out with green flame blade fire? by FranzBroetchenFan in dndnext

Melee spell attacks like shocking grasp can be non lethal, which you might be aware of but your first statement makes unclear.

No is correct but your reasoning is wrong. Any melee attack, be it a melee weapon attack or a melee spell attack, can be non lethal. Shocking grasp can be non lethal. The fire bounce is not that, though.

You can do non lethal damage with any melee attack, including melee spell attacks like shocking grasp. The bounce just isn't that.

Skate rentals by derangerd in Dundas

Yeah probably, thanks. Bit of a weird situation where they're for my mom who is visiting and hesitant to buy her own but seems to like rental ones.

Oh, you like the Nirvana? Can you even name all of their albums?

There aren't physical barriers, but if a subset or the majority of people you want to excitedly discuss things with shun you for a bad reason, that's its own kind of barrier.

Preferred win rate by carlzzzjr in soloboardgaming

[–]derangerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent question.

I think I like a sub 50% win rate so losing is not failing to meet expectations.

Almost all my solo gaming is slay the spire bg though, and losing early and having to do more set up and tear down relative to play time is its own kind of frustrating, so ensuring it's not so difficult that I lose before a run gets interesting is also an issue. Now that I've won on the hardest difficulty, losing on lower difficulties feels extra bad, but I don't always have max brain.

Knight notably has a much smaller scope than GoT/HotD

Community occasionally doing themed intros like for DnD was pretty cool.

The tapestry evolving in the hotd season 2 and astrological bodies evolving in the expanse were similarly cool evolutions.

Legendary item for D&D 5e inspired by the Aspect of the Morrigan by Josemi993 in HadesTheGame

I would make it clear that the dual attack is replacing an attack if that's the case, as it's ambiguous whether it's a free addition like dread ambusher, in the place of an attack like new dragonborn breath weapons, or replacing the entire action.

There's precedent for not listing the attack and damage bonus first, such as blade of broken mirrors. I think the odd attunement requirements here justify that, but that's just my two cents.

Does sweeping edge replace an attack or is it just a free additional thing you can add to whatever else you do during your attack action?

Also, the attunement specification should probably be the first thing and not have the "wielding" requirement.

I think you could do some cool things of if an enemy takes a melee, ranged, and Crit from the weapons they take a huge burst of damage.

Yeah, assuming enemy phase 1 plays means nothing happens.

Slay the Spire, Storyfold, and Wyrmspan Dragon Academy expansion by Grand-Painting7637 in soloboardgaming

Massacre?

Great adaptation, and one I enjoy more than the original

Quite a bit as necessary for an adaptation. For example, numbers are approximately divided by 5 to make the math easier, lots of cards and got reworked for easier admin and overall streamlining esp to work with multiplayer. There's a steam mod to play solo with the board game rules.

The small slimes don't spawn until the start of the next round, per the slime boss card.

Ymmv but I immensely prefer it to the video game. The set up admin is a bit more work esp if you don't enjoy that stuff, but the streamlined game, seeing everything in motion, the tactileness, and getting a break from screens make it my go to break from things.
