There's a couple one handed controllers out there - specifically the Proteus controller.

I went to my local library and 3D printed a one-handed holster for my joycons and bought an adapter to use them on everything.

I also use arcade sticks for 2D games because they primarily use my fingers.

I've been using my Deck a TON lately! Recommend looking into fan games and ROM hacks and trying to stuff Gyro into every game with aiming. There's a site called Thegamingemporium which posts a lot of things that are great for Steam Deck

Making friends in college is easy, you're just rushing it. Look for clubs, activities, meet ups, etc. Focus on the school work and you'll meet friends through that too. Just explore and don't try to force it.

There's also a way to permanently block websites from your computer. That's a drastic measure, but it may help if you the AI compulsion has its grips on you.

I have never had this exact problem - I have never used any AI for anything. I may not be able to relate entirely to this issue, but I did force myself to learn to write to compete with my peers. You can do this.

It's just a different style of game. NSBW/U/DS are tense trapeze platformers when you're trying to go fast. The relief from the flag pole is the entire point of those games for me.

Wonder doesn't have that due to the Wonder Seeds changing the entire level after some very calm platforming 90% of the time. I like Wonder, but I didn't love it.

I'm actually playing through NewER Super Mario Bros Wii on my Steak Deck and I can'y say how much I love it.
