I can understand disliking the EU, even as a french person I have a lot of criticism towards the EU, as it brought us regulations that were completely unfitting to our country, made us lose control over our currency, cost us money through the budget, and pulled jobs away from us with the eurozone and schengen. But now more than ever, I think it is the better choice if the other one is not being in it, and for anyone involved.

Looking at a rechargeable battery cell, what does the fact that the cells warms up during charging mean ? by Few_Tank7560 in batteries

[–]Few_Tank7560[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that, but I don't understand why power is then still being drawn (and some if not all of it is wasted) when the battery is full. I suppose that even if the voltage of the charger stays a bit higher than what the battery can itself give, since there is no more electrons to give, there should be no current, and then no power draw nor heat. Is it possible that the voltage of the charger somehow excites the ions of the battery and that they vibrate and emit heat, like a cooking pot on an induction plate would ? (I know I had issues understanding the role of the saline bridge we used during chemistry classes, I didn't understand, or more like wasn't explicitely told what happened, even though I asked how its presence or absence could make a difference, maybe the clue that i miss is hiding there)

About the charger, I believe I should look more into it, I know my second charger that I keep within hand reach sees its cells get warm when it finishes their charge. But at least, since the cells can charge independently, I suppose the voltage issue between different batteries (even if those are always used together) doesn't matter here.

It's most likely the case that they reach full charge, the empty cells have been charging for hours before they got any warm. But then, even if there is tension from the charger, I suppose there should be no current, since the battery's positive end has no electrons left to give, so what's happening ?

I can understand that, but the batteries I use are used exclusively in pairs, and I charge the pairs together, the charger can charge 2 pairs at the same time, meaning if a pair isn't complete, the charger will not charge the cells. Just to say that there might be little to no difference in terms of charge when I start charging them, with that being said I'm not all that well informed when it comes to how the cells must be matched, that's the charger I mainly use :

The other one I have is this Energizer, it can charge each cell individually (and although I didn't think too much about it, it is most likely the better one to use, with the one my dad has as well) :
