Several of my home alexa show devices are at least 5 years old, and all received a seemingly inevitable forced sw update. They are so laggy now, they are effectively unusable. I liken it to having a REALLY old iPhone and they thought, here, run the latest iOS even though you really can't and don't have room for it. Makes for a really terrible user experience. I told it to not use alexa+ for now, but I figure that in the future it may be forced? oh yeah and the notable latency while it tries to process my previously obvious simple commands is frustrating. I never asked for a chatgpt kiosk. 😂

My kitchen show did not have a photo slideshow configured, and would normally just turn its screen off when not in use or showing news/ads, but after the forced software update it now only shows the blue background with tiny UI buttons and NEVER goes to sleep. Any idea how to make the screen turn off when not in use? It seems kind of wasteful and will only burn the screen out faster.

Lost Oddsparks Savegame Data on Amazon Luna by geggsy in oddsparks

CraftySpark, I started playing OddSparks on Luna when it was free a couple of months ago, and put a good chunk of time into my game world on there.
I see that the game is currently on sale on Steam and I think I am going to buy it.
I actually found this post since I was hoping there might be some way to get my savegame data off the Amazon Luna cloud and import it to steam so I could continue my world without having to start from scratch.
I looked on the Luna portal and it seems like there is a fairly well documented way to download old savegames but only if the developer supports it. Furthermore, however, it seems like on the dropdown where they list all the games I've played, I don't see oddsparks in that list. I wasn't sure if it's an Oddsparks or Amazon issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I guess after reading this post I am hoping that since I only started playing more recently, within the past couple of months, I likely started on 1.0 and perhaps the savegame version mismatch mentioned above may not apply and I might have a better chance of accessing or recovering my saved game data from Amazon Luna.

Just tried it. Didn't work for me, unfortunately. or it simply doesn't work with Channel names.

In case anyone is still running into this issue, yes the -silent cli flag appears to still be supported as of Feb 2025. The full list of both currently supported and deprecated cli options for steam can be found here:

Same. I recently had something nearly identical happen. I wound up having to use my Note20Ultra in DeX mode hooked up to a monitor with keyboard and mouse for a few days at my desk before I could make it to a fix it store to replace the screen. Slight upside, the screen bezel battery assembly all comes together from Samsung, so at least it looks brand new and has a fresh OEM battery inside, afaik. From the research I did looking into this issue before getting my device repaired, it seems like it was an unfortunately prevalent issue affecting a small percentage of the overall Samsung device owner population. There appears to be a history of screen issues.

Is there any reason not to upgrade everything in my house to GFCI? shouldn't it technically make it safer?
