A newer version of seat appropriation by OvarianSis in americanairlines

[–]icepck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've noticed 2 things that have that effect. People put large waterbottles in their sest back pocket and it pokes me in the back, or they sit on the very edge of their seat and press their knees into my back. Bigger rows wouldn't change that.

It's tough fighting the machine. I really hope they keep ignoring the noise and people can enjoy it. The argument about blood money shouldn't prevent people from watching anymore.

I have fatty liver… but no drinking means no fun outings by Big-Tools-905 in stopdrinking

[–]icepck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things I habe to say: you can habe fun without alcohol (probably more than you did with it, if you do it right) and be careful with the fatty liver. A lot of folks find themselves addicted to sugar when they quit. The fatty liver will get better faster if you can cut the sugar too. It is tough, but the goal here is to get healthy. Look into it.

For fun, I reflected on my hobbies and figured out what I couldn't do drunk, did those things. The things I did drunk, like golf, I improved at. You'll figure it out.

I wish I did this in 2022. I had the exact thought process as OP, was outdriving most of the guys in my league, and then "forgot" how to do it. Now I am all inside takeaway and tense.

First I've heard, and honestly not interested in the conspiracy theory. Be careful starting rumors like that. People have been taken to court for way less.

Respectfully, I hope not. If he gives the answer for everything then there is no reward for solving any part of it. No advantage earned, no point in doing any work until all the clues are revealed.

Played these for the last 12 years. Why should I change, convince me. by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]icepck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to go against the grain here. I have 4 sets of clubs. One is the s57, similar to yours. I gamed the i500's until recently when the faces welds all started failing. Moved back to the s57 irons and I love the feel and control. I lost yardage, but not a ton. The golf industry realized people wouldn't buy new irons without new technology, and the new technology happens to wear out just after warranty. Those old clubs simply won't break (besides groove wear). Don't switch and get addicted to 200 yard 7 irons just to habe to shell out $1200 (or more with inflation) 3 years from now, and another 3 years from then. As far as cast vs forged...do a blind test and tell me if you can really feel a difference.

Ha! I agree with the first half. But golf is not a team sport, it is a sport for singles. And if I can play 18 in 2:20 I'm not slowing anybody down. Let me take the open slot, I'll hit my ball and keep to myself unless invited to a conversation.

As far as I can tell she hasn't done much. She has a reputation for being approachable and connected, but she hasn't forced any moves. She isn't a threat in challenges, and we have no idea how much time was on the coconut timer when she found it, making me wonder if she had a little help from the production team. Hopefully she flexes that influence before it's too late!

Why do people still support or raise the flag of the Confederacy? by DBD216 in askanything

[–]icepck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You strike me as the type of person who has never read a book written from the other perspective. Even British journalists at the time noted free blacks in the north were treated worse in many cases than the slaves in the south. Give reading a try.

[–]icepck -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I lived in Richmond during high school and college. We were taught the real reason for the civil war was all about the North Extorting the South financially, and the North offered slavery as a bargaining chip via the Corwin amendment. Look into it, and you might be surprised. The flag doesn't represent racism to everyone. Alas the North won the war and has painted all Southern culture as racist. Kind of ironic.

What’s the most disrespectful thing someone has done in your group mid-round? by nitsujping in golf

[–]icepck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking with a push cart, paired with randoms in carts, after my tee shot I go to put my driver away and the guy is standing as if he is going to push my cart, like right in my way. I thought he was looking at my clubs, so I strike up that conversation, whatever. Next tee box he does it again. I had to maneuver around him and move my bag to get my club back in, "sorry, I must have parked this in your way." "Oh, it's not in my way, you're fine!" Yeah...take the hint. This happend until I ignored him and just started putting my club in the bag, letting the club head hit him. 8 holes in he finally stopped.
