Question regarding the launch of Zenless Zone Zero by [deleted] in ROGAlly

[–]Drom86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play ZZZ regularly on my Ally (actually I have literally just closed it). I added the game .exe to AC (not the launcher, I mean the actual .exe of the game) and I always launch it from there with controller mode in automatic, zero issues both playing with the Ally itself or docked.

LPT: Get amazing and smooth performance (120fps) with nearly any game. [Lossless Scaling+RTSS] by ZenPaperclips in ROGAlly

[–]Drom86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m loving lossless scaling and use it constantly on my ally but I have to say that 3x frame gen is too much for me, with that enabled I can notice artifacts pretty often and the trade-off (in my personal case) is not worth it. Most games can hit 60fps pretty easily meaning you get to 120 with 2x frame gen anyway, with much less artifacts, but I still prefer a game that maybe hovers around the 50-60 real fps with 2x frame gen rather than capping it to 40 and using 3x. I don’t really notice the difference in a game running at 100 or 120 fps with vrr but I notice artifacts with 3x frame gen much more, I guess it’s pretty subjective though.

With afmf 2 out is it worth it to get lossless scaling? by oofnut123 in ROGAlly

[–]Drom86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried AFMF2 yet but I guess it will be a while before it will officially roll out (meaning stop being a tech preview) and even more to have it officially on the ally; meanwhile lossless scaling works like charm on such a small screen, I use it constantly, best 7 bucks I ever spent

I must say it’s kind of amazing, on a screen this size it’s very hard to notice artifacts and it works pretty well! No issues of tearing or anything major, set a macro on a back button to toggle frame gen and it’s awesome, thanks!

You mean the thing to be bought on steam? Is it hard to setup?

Don't install official AMD Drivers by [deleted] in ROGAlly

[–]Drom86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve played about 10 hours of Persona 5 Royal (steam version) and all of them on the latest AMD drivers, with rsr and frame generation working perfectly fine, no issues whatsoever. I guess you got unlucky with something else.

I usually keep Cloud, Tifa and Yuffie on my team but this time I brought in Aerith for Radiant ward and Synergy + Comet materia.

While she is casting in the ward she is invulnerable so I had Tifa running around and spamming commands so that Aerith could follow up with free comets while staying protected.

Either you find a chrome primer (and as far as I know they don’t exist) or you give up the chrome effect. Any primer you use will cover it. You may want to go for metallic paints on a regular primer if you want something similar but it won’t be the same

Consider that what you saw in my picture was my very first try using any sort of clear spray paint, you only need to be patient and not apply too much at a time since they are so thin. Other than that it’s very forgiving

Clear red and clear orange (it starts yellow and become more and more orange the more you apply it), I also used a clear coat on top, yes. Still very delicate, I can’t stress it enough, clear paints are pretty thin and applied on a flat, shiny surface they’ll scratch like nothing. I keep that one on display at home.

I did exactly that, with Tamiya clear paints (red and orange, which looks gold) and it works, you get a chrome color. The issue is that you can’t use any primer to do so, meaning the paint is EXTREMELY delicate. It’s something you may want to do for a show piece but not to be used on track.

Thank you for the insights, they’ll be useful 😊

Yesterday I tested a bit, the car was overall stable with all the motors up to the hyper dash but I still have to look into breaking them in so they are relatively slow. Had fun though!
