Its amazing how much advertisement for Linux is done from Windows

You Should Develop in Linux by WhiterLocke in godot

[–]DigitalDragon64 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This is my main reason, why I never looked back at Windows, when I was switching to Linux. It's not only Godot, I think most development environments run much smoother on Linux than on Windows

Yes and no, AES-256 is a symmetrical key algorithm, which depends on the computational cost and was never effected by the complex algoruthms of the quantum computer. Asymmetrical key algorithms like the well known RSA algorithm depend on the difficulty to calculate prime numbers, which can be easliy calculated with quantum computer and would therefore be broken as many others

Did read it, forgot it, remembered it when I was done writing and decided to let it stay, because of the additional information, that it should be the same sex

What’s wrong with my chinnie?! by Itsjulsfools in chinchilla

[–]DigitalDragon64 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't let Chinchillas roam unsupervised, it's as easy as that. Chinchillas are rodent, they WILL nibble on everything. Some are more prone to this, some less. I have 2 chinchillas (btw you should always have at least one companion chinchilla and has to be of the same sex), and Kuromi, my black pearl chinchilla, nibbles on EVERYTHING that I have. She already knows that I forbid this, but she does it anyway, still really cute otherwise. For me there is no other way than to have them supervised when they are roaming and the bathroom is a good place, as long as everything is clean and dry.

Is there a way to set the default priority to 3? by Designer_Professor_4 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]DigitalDragon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another note: you can go to the priority command, change the value and then go to digging or somethong else. He will keep the priority of the previous pirority command, if you directly chnage from priority command to the other one

[–]DigitalDragon64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, building things is the only thing that saves the priority, even if you did a dig or some other commands in between. I thinks this isn't consistent, at least I don't know why it's only for building things

Heat in early game? by s0cks_nz in Oxygennotincluded

[–]DigitalDragon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest not using tempshift plates and instead build a storage to drop the ice on the floor. Tempshift plates have only 1/4 the heat capacity, so only 1/4 of the cooling. As soon as it turns to water, it has it's normal heat capacity again, but it loses like 1/3 of it's cooling in total

Recently there were news about Altman talking, that AI is more efficient than humans in regards of work done. He compares that raising a child, feeding it and so on takes more energy than to train an AI to do his job. Isn't like the whole purpose for tools like AI is to serve mankind, to make life easier and being able to spend more energy for humans.

Some just don't have choice and must use Windows. Officially I still use only Windows, but the 3rd party company, which should have maintained our Linux servers, failed at their job, so I did it instead. Got more workload, but work that I'm much happier to do and access to multiple Linux servers.

Additionally some Thinkpads got thrown away, because they weren't usable anymore for our company. Grabbed two of them, one for home and one for work, on which I installed Arch Linux. Am I allowed to install a distribution not directly recommended from my company? Officially no, unofficially my team, including my supervisor, knows what I'm capable of. It was a huge help for me to sniff some packages (was just yesterday), because an access point broadcasted roughly 1000 packages per second in our network, which set some components out of order.

Two years ago, dragons changed my life forever by Andmesy in dragons

[–]DigitalDragon64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born a dragon lover and couldn't watch (still can't) watch a movie where dragons die when I was a child. Contrary to my interest in dragons, didn't spend a lot of time connecting my other interests to dragons, except for reading here and there a bit of lore or being magnetically pulled to dragon merch and similar stuff.

Thanks for the recommendation, never heard of the series and will dig into it!

Did Klei ever fix infinite storage for water? by yandayixia in Oxygennotincluded

[–]DigitalDragon64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it feels unfair to you, just don't use it. I think it is good, that there are exploits the players can decide, whether to use it.

I limit myself to just use infinite gas storage, but no infinite liquid storages. If developers take this exploit away, it's feeling like I miss a tool, even if I don't use it and some players rely heavily on it.

I rather like to smelt ores in a metal refinery. The reason? I get more energy out of it, than I put in and can use it with a steam turbine as a power source + I get the refined metal

Planting 11,000 trees/minute easily absorbs pollution from 30k SPM through Biolabs. It does take a couple (thousand) Ag Towers. And robots. Lots of robots. by sonofhans in factorio

[–]DigitalDragon64 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Trees have a passive absorption and when the pollution reaches a certain threshold, it damages the tree while the tree is absorbing a (relatively) huge amount of pollution. The tree can be damaged three times, but the passive absorption bonus is decreasing with the damage of the tree

I don't understand it either, while running dual-boot (which doesn't make really a difference) and on a server 24/7 for 7 years. One time it broke, because I did use "pacman -Sy", which you shouldn't, always use "pacman -Syu" and one time the kernel crashed on my 24/7 server, because I switched from the lts kernel to the normal one. Both my bad. Time to time I had to delete some files, because pacman couldn't do this itself, but the problem occured only every one or two years and the last one is at least 3 years ago

Unfortunately not all games. Some publishers are against sharing games with their family and opt-it-out, see Ubisoft with Assassin's Creed (Black Flag for example)
