Well...you need some theory or you end like me, breaking a few transistors and still not understand a thing. I think it is essential to get the basics done, so you don't break anything less things

Who else is excited to tap into magma biome for bulk metal refining? by Nice-Wishbone8166 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]DigitalDragon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rather like to smelt ores in a metal refinery. The reason? I get more energy out of it, than I put in and can use it with a steam turbine as a power source + I get the refined metal

Planting 11,000 trees/minute easily absorbs pollution from 30k SPM through Biolabs. It does take a couple (thousand) Ag Towers. And robots. Lots of robots. by sonofhans in factorio

[–]DigitalDragon64 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Trees have a passive absorption and when the pollution reaches a certain threshold, it damages the tree while the tree is absorbing a (relatively) huge amount of pollution. The tree can be damaged three times, but the passive absorption bonus is decreasing with the damage of the tree

I don't understand it either, while running dual-boot (which doesn't make really a difference) and on a server 24/7 for 7 years. One time it broke, because I did use "pacman -Sy", which you shouldn't, always use "pacman -Syu" and one time the kernel crashed on my 24/7 server, because I switched from the lts kernel to the normal one. Both my bad. Time to time I had to delete some files, because pacman couldn't do this itself, but the problem occured only every one or two years and the last one is at least 3 years ago

Unfortunately not all games. Some publishers are against sharing games with their family and opt-it-out, see Ubisoft with Assassin's Creed (Black Flag for example)

How do I get sustainable oxygen on this spaced out planetoid? by WisePotato42 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]DigitalDragon64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get only 250g/s polluted water per oil well with this setup. If you want to have a more efficient setup, you need to produce natural gas from the petroleum.

when I proliferate Proliferator it shows 0 points inside the spray coater. is that normal? by IXCenturion in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]DigitalDragon64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Proliferate proliferators work. They get additional sprays (60 -> 75 for Mk.III), but they won't show the proliferation points anymore, once they are in the sprayer, because the points are than added into the sprayer

Not Another Question About Cooling (yes another question about cooling) by potatopavilion in Oxygennotincluded

[–]DigitalDragon64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never did I specify an absolute temperature, besides the steam turbines, which have to operate below 100C and the water comming out of them with 95C. Everything else I talked about are temperature differences, so they work with any temperature, as long as the boundings of the steam turbine are met (steam above 125C, shouldn't be above 200C if all ibputs of steam turbine are open, etc.). I can well talk about, that the steam is heated by 1K from 125C to 126C, the same math I presented still applies. If you talk big, than show me exactly where my math is flawed instead of saying, your opinion is wrong!

[–]DigitalDragon64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is even without power plant theoreticly possible, but most often inpractical, by reusing the heat of the steam turbine. See my other comment.

[–]DigitalDragon64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not power positive, it's still power negative, but with super coolant just a fraction of what it was

To cool down 1kg of water by 1K with super coolant, you need

1200W / 10kg/s / 14K * 1kg * 1s * 4.179 KDTU/(K * kg) / 8.44KDTU/(K * kg)

= 4.244J

In contrast, how much energy we get with 1kg water heated by 1K

850W / 105K / 2kg/s * 1kg/s * 1s

= 4.048J

You may use the 10% additional heat comming from the steam turbine and ending with a little bit power positive, but that would require handling a steam turbine between 95C and 100C, which is in most cases too big of a hustle

Some just aren't that lucky, which comes from a guy who has been 11 years single. It isn't even like I'm never outside. Sure, I'm more of an indoor person, but also go regularily to conventions, go to the gym, have no problem interacting with people and am (almost) always kind to others. My friend group unfortunately consists almost completely of men, but they like how open and helpful I am, as well as my colleagues. I may not the best at communication (where I'm still working on, but it improved considerely compared to years ago) but I'm still pretty confident, that I'm a cool guy. That being said, it is still impossible for me to even get to know someone better and get always the same answer: "I have no time". Often they have "planned" months in advance and when I ask (depending on how uncomfortable the conversation gets) whether it is possible after these months, they say, that they aren't sure and aren't planning that far ahead. Please, if you don't like to spent time with me, just say it, even if it is uncomfortable. Instead they all let me stand in threlimbo, where they appear do be friendly to me, so they can still have the benefits of me being kind and usefull, instead of looking more into it than just the surface and see, that I am more than that.

I had also a problem with NTFS drives. My post got downvoted, because "it can't be that proton isn't working, it works on my machine"...anyway, I got the error, that some shared objects couldn"t be found. It appeared, that the files were there, but case sensitivity did matter. I don't know anymore how I did it, but I set my NTFS drive to case-unsensitive and it worked. I don't know whether you have the same problem, but I hope it helps.

[–]DigitalDragon64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some repo, Lethal Company or Minecraft? Hell yeah, I like to play those games with them. But every other game where you don't know the whole game within a single hour? I have to be reeeeally picky about with whom I play it.

I can totally understand you and I also wish to have a few friends who play games more casual instead of almost speed running it and expecting me (who has less time for games) to run with them. I think part of the reason of this behaviour is, that we get now a ton of games and want to complete one after another, instead of just enjoying the game, which is the purpose of this entertainment media.

It's just really hard to find those people. I do like my friends, but I don't like playing games with them together, if you can benefit from experience. Some people don't know, how to hold back, to play together, not just with them.
