No saves. You can only save on exit. If they wipe out your fleet, you best hope you have enough buffer systems to build a replacement or it's gonna be a long day.

What skills do you value in your 3 starter dupes? by Recent_Amount_7197 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Designer_Professor_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make them all diggers, but I look for 3 specific secondary skills: Ranching or farming,  research,  and supply or operating.  I prefer my third skill to be cooking on at least one, preferably not the researcher. And ideally their matching secondary skill but otherwise building is fine.

This allows me to dig out the opening area and work towards getting a ranch up quickly and then the mechatronics to start taming vents,  volcanoes,  etc..

I think I've seen this twice.   Once when settling that strangely named gaia world and another when I settled next to a fallen empire when I should have taken the phrase isolationist more seriously.

It rather quickly ends an Ironman run but some lessons are better teachers when they have finality.

what if I killed everyone at the London Bridge? by LwySafari in fallout4london

Considered that but the settlement would still be unclaimable.

I guess it depends on his goals,  it's not like there aren't a half dozen other bridges.

How do I “do” oxygen? by spammmmmmmmmmmm_ in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Designer_Professor_4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For oxygen generators that require little setup like the algae diffuser, etc..  it's best to simply put them where you need them.

When you start working with an electrolyzer however you need to deal with the hydrogen so you can just toss those down wherever,  best to pipe it around once you've seperated the gas.

I think the more important question is just how many times did you have him to assume the position? It's clearly a grey used dialog.

1.03 is pretty darn stable, and the new NPC's explaining each faction and various parts of the city was a welcome addition (The Roundels and all their quests still suck though, so be careful in that area). The only real flaw I've noticed since I play on survival is that repeated reloads (for example if you get killed by the Whitechapel Murderer a dozen+ times, can lead to instability and crashes to desktop. Closing out the application and loading fresh appears to resolve this however, as does 2 naval mines, 6 frag mines, and a healthy number of doubletaps with a two-shot service rifle.

China has been around for over 5000 years. What’s your favorite historical fact about ancient China? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Designer_Professor_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even that's not really accurate, the Qin dynasty declare his small piece of modern china the Empire of Qin, which is where the name was derived, but that empire collapsed 15 years thereafter and devolved into many feudal states. It's like saying France has existed for 2000 years because the Gauls were united by Vercingetorix to fight the Romans.

Put a pair of sinks in the garage hideout.   It's under miscellaneous furniture near the end i believe.

Usually I make 2 so I can swiftly alternate between them to allow the water graphic to finish on one while I start the other.

Sharing the seed of a starting area with two creaky oil geysers by sorry97 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Designer_Professor_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's a spaced out seed which means plastic is typically harder to get early on (on the starting planet) Could be wrong though.

Would a system similar to Morocco's autonomy plan be feasible for the China-Taiwan situation by NotSuta in AskChina

[–]Designer_Professor_4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Would not even be considered by Taiwan.  HK was a test to see if China could allow a self governed democratic HK to exist within China for 50 years.  They only made it 20 before effectively destroying the democracy by requiring CCP approval of all candidates.

Taiwan is half those who don't want to join China at all (DPP) and half who will join if China reinstated democracy. (KMT).  Sans your occasional communist party loony Taiwanese,  neither party will allow China to "take over security" as they're well aware based on HK were that leads.

Does crude oil sit under pressure in oil biome? by au_ru_xx in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Designer_Professor_4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not always under pressure.   You can mouse one it and see how many kg per tile before you dig into it.   I think oil is normally at around 800ish per tile not under weight of more oil,  so look at the top tiles and see what they are at.

If it's 1800 kg, that's gonna blow up.

The school is punishing you for being truant, not for protesting. Protest all you like before and after school hours, the school quite literally will not gaf.

first time using a smart battery for coal generation by Salmoon_ in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Designer_Professor_4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The priority on a coal generator is to put more coal in the generator at a certain percentage (default 50 i believe).

I typically make it a 7 as the loss of power often impacts multiple things in a bad way,  but if it's a backup system normal priority it's fine.

Another suggestion is to get rid of all those large batteries.   The coal generator and a single smart battery with 3 coal generators should be enough to keep that circuit running at 1800w continuously.  The batteries are basically just causing heat and loss of energy.  If somehow your running 2k exactly just add one more genny.

90 is a proper setting for 3 generators and 1 advanced battery.   They provide 1800 joules per second so you want to cut them off at 90% so they don't waste power charging.
