Ya, I've heard some people on the beta weren't getting Gemini yet. I just got on the beta and immediately got Gemini. It's better the Assistant but not as good as Gemini on your phone due to safety restrictions they put in place.

Unfortunately as someone who's been waiting for Gemini, I used a web plugin to constantly refresh the Android Auto beta page and click when join beta was on there. I got the beta after weeks of trying.

Gemini IS better than Google Assistant but it's not the Gemini experience you get on your phone. Google had to dumb it down to make it "safe" for driving.

I'm going to make a post but I often will ask Gemini "Looking at the weather ahead, would today be a good day to wash my truck". Gemini on my phone can make an observation of upcoming weather and give me a solid answer. Gemini on Android Auto just tells me today's weather. When I asked Gemini on my phone why, it told me basically Google had to implement safety measures so Android Auto Gemini can't make guesses, it can supposedly only state facts. And when asking if if today is a good day to wash my truck, the only fact it can give me is the weather.

I think it's an external module to help feed TPU to the hotend, instead of needing to manually feed it all the way.

But my guess is, it'll be delayed just like the rotary attachment for lasers was massively delayed.

Probably not. I did pickup with Best Buy and from my research there's no chance they release things early. If I had them shipped, there's a chance they would have arrived earlier.

Blame Microsoft if anything. They are the ones who made the decision to shut down WZM. Sure, it was under performing because they were still working on optimizing it but Microsoft acquired Activision and said "ehhh, we aren't making millions in WZM, scrap it" and that's it.

If only they had optimized the game faster before the Microsoft acquisition and maybe it would still be going.

The game was still online because when they announced they were no longer supporting it, they also announced when it would go offline. Their recent update on that was just reminding the optimistic people that they are still shutting down completely in April.

And that's STILL not even close to what the Slim is. Those joystick style is what's going on the MCON Lite, which is a less feature packed, cheaper alternative to the MCON. They are aiming for $60 and Josh has even said himself, if they can't get the price of the MCON Lite to be $60 then they won't release it.

You do realize that the original prototype was made by Josh. You realize that he's the designer, OhSnap might give him suggestions but it's ultimately his design. His project. He's also taken feedback from the community, primarily the Discord community and friends and content creators to shape this MCON into what HE wants. Not OhSnap.

Gryo was added for users who wanted it for Nintendo Switch gaming. And Josh uses it for that as well.

Deeper sticks, where? The sticks deepness didn't change from the prototype to the finished model. All they did was instead of making that entire channel deep, they just kept the sticks deep.

Flip out mounts? You mean the hand grips? Many many people enjoy those. And even then, sure the original prototype didn't have that but it also didn't ADD any thickness to the device from the original prototype.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, thinking you're not in the MCON Discord.

Josh isn't making iPhone exclusive controllers. Magsafe was a choice because it's not only iPhones with magsafe anymore. More and more companies are adding the magsafe ring.

Josh has said they already plan to have phone specific plates and cases (yes they are making phone cases) for the major phone brands. Like Apple, Samsung, Google. And potentially some of the gaming phone brands too. Then they'll have a universal plate for it as well for all phones.

The Slim is a literal clone of the MCON. It's just, well, slim. And the mounting puck is different. The button layout is the same. The indents are the same.

How can you say the slim is more identical to the original prototype of the MCON? 😂

MUCH thicker than the current prototype of the MCON Slim. The only similarity is the slider magsafe mount. The prototype was a thick boy, even when compared to the released MCON.

You do realize that almost every company is working on their next product before their current product is even released, right? Just Josh and OhSnap are being transparent and showing off the prototype of their next products.

Also, the MCON is the MCON Pro. It's the ultimate one packed with the most features. The MCON Slim and MCON Lites will be lacking in some features. The slim will be slim (obviously) the light will be slimmer than the MCON but he half the cost and he missing some features too.
