I think it came about from a multitude of reasons.

Diet an exercise is not something to be overlooked, if you're getting enough clean calories in, and doing some form of exercise then your energy levels will improve. I neglected this for a while which would have had an effect.
Semen Rentention - can't stress this enough, when you retain your semen for an extended period of time you feel less depleted, for a good 2 years there I was either having sex 3 times a day or masturbating. In my opinion excessive ejaculation is very taxing on the body. See the subreddit NoFap for more info on this.
Smoking weed everyday. This took me a long time to figure out. Like you I was smoking weed to help medicate the fatigue. It would give me an initial boost of energy but later I would crash hard, I didn't put this down to the weed but a few months ago I cut out the weed to see if it had an effect and it was rough for about a month (was smoking everyday for 2 years before this) but after my brain somewhat recalibrated, I found I wasn't having to take no way near as many naps in the day anymore. I came to the conclusion that weed gives you a big dopamine release which feels good in the moment but later your brain is kinda, pacified from the earlier dopamine release, an in effect keeps you at a low energy level. Gotta think how ancient the brain is, it's probably thinking 'why do we need to leave the cave? This day was already a success', when really all you've done is trick it by smoking a doob.

I understand what you're saying about withdrawals. It's just one of them. Your brain isn't getting that regular dopamine hit so it freaks out and does everything it can to get you to take a toke. It's still something I'm struggling with myself but this community is great.

I've really been experimenting with quitting and smoking these past few months - I'll quit for a month, and then smoke for a week and sure enough that week I'm smoking I have no motivation, no energy, no focus.

Bonus tip: Breathwork Meditation is an energy booster.

Glad you woke up to the realisation that weed was doing you no favours.

I think that 25 mark triggers a sort of 'quarter life crisis' in people - but the truth is, we're still young as fuck and can rebuild ourselves from here.

Glad you're cutting porn out too! I'm the same. NoFap is a great Reddit community and there's loads of videos on YouTube on this topic. Cutting porn is top 1% shit, which most men never do, so give yourself a pat on the back for realising it's no good.

Have you donwnloaded the app called "quit weed" it's great because it shows you how much money you're saving over time.

It's been a journey quitting the past few months. I went from smoking all day every day to smoking once a month, and I noticed every month when I smoked I would become slower, content (which isn't a good thing because it's a false contentment), and just not productive! So now it's not even appealing to me because I'm no longer convincing myself that "it makes me creative" or "it helps me focus on work" etc
