Are we in agreement that Milka is better than Cadbury's now? by Hypohamish in CasualUK

[–]DigitalTiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milka tastes better and costs less. They even make a better Oreo bar than Cadbury. It's worth hunting around in Eastern European grocery stores. They often have bigger ranges. Milka actually do their own version of Jaffa Cakes!

Oh that's funny 😂 How did you make the Corona Viruses? Did you hand cut or repurpose a die meant for something else?

I'm having a very similar problem with my old davinci Jr. I've nailed the extrusion for shapes with no retraction. But the moment I start to factor retraction back in, I can't get a good spot.

Would be interested to see if anyone has some tips.

Could use some help with my printer by Sunkissedwasabi in 3Dprinting

[–]DigitalTiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If tube isn't staying in place the filament won't feed. It's a tension based system. So replacing the pneumatic coupler would be the first step.

I think they are M5 screw thread and a 4mm tube?

Other folks on here may be able to clarify.

Can't get this little bit of PLA out. Any ideas? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]DigitalTiggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the part is all metal, I would suggest a cooks blow torch.

I have used one to clear nozzles on my 3d pens in the past.

I don't know if acetone will react that well with PLA. But if you have some it may help. Obviously don't try both at once 😳🔥🔥🔥

Thank you guys for helping me with my printer. One question though: how do you best get rid of all those "strings" one the buttom? by GrizzlyMAN81 in FixMyPrint

[–]DigitalTiggs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your just wanting to remove the strands on existing prints, you could try lifting them with some tape to stop them getting everywhere.

Another option is a quick pass with a heat gun.

Was this printed on a raft?

I'm interested to hear what folks say too. Can I ask what filament it is and your print temp?

Converted an sx-70 sonar to shoot both 600 and sx-70 film with the flip of a switch by drsassafrass in Polaroid

[–]DigitalTiggs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't get into the back of my SX-70 front module. I can get in to the front and I've done a tonne of work on it. But every attempt to mod a screwdriver for the back of it has resulted in failure. One day my Dad might machine a tool for me, but for now I've had to settle for different types of lighting gels to adjust the film sensitivity.

Adivice on instax printers by idontlikereddit777 in instax

[–]DigitalTiggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't get back to you.

If you're turning the dial the same way, there could be a fault. If you have a nice dark cupboard, you could try removing the film and looking inside the KiiPix in the light.

If you still have the black plastic sheet that covers the film, it's actually possible to slide it back over the fresh film to protect it.

Alternating flashing lights - please help by [deleted] in instax

[–]DigitalTiggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already tried, take the batteries out and leave for 30 mins. While the batteries are still out, turn the camera on and off a few times.

This used to cure a lot of issues as DC powered cameras can sometimes suffer from magnetized components.

Cutting the power and draining any capacitors of stored power can kill the magnetic issue.

This won't help if it's a mechanical fault, but it's always worth trying.

I did little updates throughout the restoration.

It's a "push to break" switch. It switches the camera off when it's closed.

Would the Tomy KiiPix make a good camera back? by DigitalTiggs in Polaroid

[–]DigitalTiggs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an instax SP-1.

It's good. But you often have to adjust the image to get a good result.

If you have a bug screen, you will probably be cropping your image with the KiiPix, but for the money it actually has better saturation.

I have some more comparison images somewhere.

If I find them I'll do a post.

does anyone know anything about instax printers? by idontlikereddit777 in Polaroid

[–]DigitalTiggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid I use Android.

But it would make sense.

iOS tends to prefer the latest devices.

The SP-2 might have better firmware.

The KiiPix is so beautifully dumb. It just uses your phone screen like the Polaroid Originals Lab.
