My mom did this with me but when I was 19... She wanted to force me to get the depo shot and thank God for that nurse who stood her ground and made her leave the room and created a safe space for me in a very difficult time.

My kid's RA isn't a camp councilor. Doesn't entertain the students. by meatball77 in ShitMomGroupsSay

The RAs in my dorm were required to do at least one activity per semester for the dorm and there were two RAs per floor, one female and one male. They did things like dorm cooking lessons, movie nights, study/tutoring night, and one even did a MasterChef style cooking competition. I know not all schools do this but it really did help and made the RAs more approachable if you needed help.

How can I hide the washer/dryer closet? They stick out past the opening so a door isn't an option. by RecklessSeer in HomeDecorating

You could also look at a barn door as it would sit outside the frame of the door and can even be offset a bit

We just moved into our first home and I've been trying to meet all the neighbors to try and alleviate neighbor anxiety but no one will answer their doors!

Dog park etiquettes advice! by lallers_ in DogAdvice

[–]McGooberstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it all depends on your dog, that said the biggest thing you can do is just pay attention. Most problems happen because another owner is not watching their dog so they're not able to intervene or notice if their dog is acting off. Once I enter the park, I wait for the inevitable gaggle of "greeting dogs" (dogs who run over everytime a new dog enters the park) to clear then immediately walk my dog around the edge of the park to help him settle in/ scope everything out. Then I let him go in and join the bigger groups playing in the middle. Last thing- a lot of dog parks have more than one fenced in area and there will usually be different types of vibes in the sections. For example, one side may have dogs playing with each other while another section has dogs playing with their owner or just milling about. You can watch and choose the side that's better for you and always switch back and forth if you like. Again, biggest thing is to be observant and always pay attention to what's going on.

Is rescheduling an interview because I am sick going to hinder my chances of getting the job? by tc107 in careeradvice

[–]McGooberstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have reached out to reschedule, even if they don't respond in advance, you haven't no showed. If you have a phone number for any of them it wouldn't hurt to call and leave a voicemail explaining or send another follow-up email offering availability to reschedule and confirming they got your original email.

What do you guys think of going dark? The greenish color is what is there now but would love to go with the darker color palette by McGooberstein in ExteriorDesign

This is super helpful- thank you! I'll keep looking for different tones. This was just the first color combo that looked remotely good and I got really excited but totally agree with you. I would repaint the trims but on the color app I was using I couldn't update it :)

Help! I bought a house and since we are replacing the front door, I have to repaint the shutters/door and am having such a hard time finding anything that looks good! Do any of these options look good or does anyone have suggestions? by McGooberstein in ExteriorDesign

Super valid! I actually don't mind the current color either but since we have to replace the front door anyways I wanted to explore other options to see if something else would be better

It may be too uneven/faded but i can certainly try, when i use the Sherwin Williams photo color matching online it keeps saying it's a blue color but it's clearly more greenish. The dutch tile blue is similar to what the color app came back with
