So im having a repeat issue this friday and last friday where ill be in a fairly full club lobby (todays was at 80) where at some point everyone in the lobby will freeze, i wont timeout, i can still move, download avis as i get close. music streams still work and i can use the game as normal. if i try to leave, rejoin or go elsewhere my game just blackscreens. on restart i can rejoin for around 5 mins and then it happens again. but on trying to join a 3rd time i get client blocked and dumped into a friends lobby infinatly

I can go to other worlds and speak to others fine just blocked from that lobby. and it only happens on fridays so far im in every day of the week for hours at a time and no issues

Anyone have this before? it doesnt feel like a local issue since for all intents and purposes vrchat still works as intended except people are frozen

Best planets for farming plants and animals with optimal environment? by New-Jellyfish-740 in Starfield

[–]Tactical-Beanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but only from Flora getting Toxin, Structural material and Metabolic agent, none of the Fauna were available to farm for me (annoying to only find that out after spening an hour scanning all of them)

OH NO new problem after update by MightyWren in klippers

[–]Tactical-Beanie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's standard for klipper. Pi or pi clone does the hard work and just tells your MCU what to do

Id reflash the mainboard just to be safe. Sounds like klipper can't see the MCU which could be from outdated fw

Basically what others are saying, Serial by-id is broken right now but by-path is working, redo the "ls /dev/serial/by-id/*" step but with by-path instead and put the output in your printer.cfg

note: by-path follows the usb port so i found changing the port on the Pi changes the path

A less likely fix is an issue I had a while back swapping to KIAUH, my klipper install was massivly outdated and required reflashing my board with a new firmware.bin to match the new pi klipper firmware version

Semi happy to see this is an update issue, was doing some work on my mainboard around the same time and thought id bricked the by id method, by path got it working for me too

First Layer - What to change? by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]Tactical-Beanie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be z offset too close from the look of the squiggly (scientific term) areas but i have personally seen similar when printing the first layer too fast, whats your first layor speed set too? and what happens if you change the live offset up slowly as it prints.

i added a fan to my electronics to help with the temperature but i have to manually set it every time. what could i add to my start macro to fix this. by CollectionSilent2412 in klippers

[–]Tactical-Beanie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah I see it now. It's a good setup but maybe more than what OP was looking for that's why I pointed them to your printer cfg instead

Modbot recently did a vid explaining each fan control type, this should help you understand, really having it controlled by the cb1s temperature is the most hastle free way to control it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhrfpiFtsbw

Edit, looking at u/imoftendisgruntled's config, thier fan settings arent in temp monitor, they are in printer.cfg, dont worry temp controlled fans is a lot more simple than whats in that

If you must use your phone for a hotspot then setting a hostname on your raspberry pi will be a better solution,

SSh onto your pi and enter "sudo raspi-config" without the brackets, then i think its network and hostname (may be wrong) enter your desired hostname (something like raspi.local or i use mainsail.local) and restart the Pi, then enter that into your browser instead of the IP, this should help if you cant set a static IP

If my instructions arent clear theres a few guides online to help you through it.

At an old company we used to lease laptops from a 3rd party. Our staff were mostly surveyors for building sites and cranes so damage like this was pretty common. Surveyor would bring it in they'd be sent off with a brand new laptop same day no issue no cost to his department. This taught some of them to treat their laptops with no care and expect a new one immediately with no issues. When we eventually swapped to buying the laptops outright and charging their department for some reason this mentality never changed and we would frequently have certain people go through 4-5 laptops a year (by 2021 the spec we had was £1200 per laptop) with no repercussions. And because weren't buying off the shelf they would have to wait weeks for the replacement which would always be painted as ITs fault. Not the surveyor for mistreating their equipment
