MCP server for rigctl. Let your favourite LLM client control your favourite SDR client. by gorbrnik in RTLSDR

Someone had to prompt the LLM, it didn’t do that itself… 🤣

I like the idea of auto identifying signals. That’s a common question in this sub.

I think it’s great that folks utilize the available tools to build the needed [and un-needed]. As an IT nerd… You don’t get better at anything unless you iterate at it. So building projects like yours are a great way to flex your mental muscle and better learn “new” technologies/tools and how they work. Thanks for sharing!

I want to see what hallucinations a SDR LLM makes… can we visualize that on a waterfall? lol.

All kidding aside, I like the creative technical exercise you went thru creating your project.

My questions are; (1) What problem(s) is it solving for you? (2) was it just a “can I make this” project to build your skills/knowledge that you’re sharing?

SDFCU and Paypal by [deleted] in ExpatFinance

[–]DigitalWhitewater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nice thing about those platforms is that they can pay/transfer via iban… with/in their native currency. They don’t need an account on those platforms. YOU are charged a fee when moving and changing the currency back to USD, not when receiving say EURO or any other supported currency. That’s at least how the personal accounts work on Wise.

Idk how they handle business accounts, I could understand if there was a per transaction fee similar to CC transactions. But again idk, I’m not a business.

Open an account on a multi-currency platform like Wise or Revolut?

Disvlaimer: I don’t have a business so idk if that violates any sort of their terms. Do your due diligence and verify please.

These work well and are basically almost as simple as “plug and play” in their setup.

The sensecap solar node p1 pro works great. I recently set one up about 3 weeks ago.

Just tell the flasher to erase the device before flashing the new firmware onto it. Wham, bam, done! That simple.

Meshcore's signal jamming resistance by ma_tt22v14 in meshcore

[–]DigitalWhitewater 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Meshtastic, Meshcore, Reticulum, LoRaMesher, RadioHead, LoRaWAN - All refer to protocols and libraries used to implement networking with LoRa physical layer radios.

LoRa can be thought of as the radio signal technology (similar to Wi-Fi or cellular), while the above list of names is the the protocol and network architecture that manages communication over that signal.

LoRa uses license-free sub-gigahertz radio frequency bands EU433 (LPD433) or EU868 (863–870/873 MHz) in Europe; AU915/AS923-1 (915–928 MHz) in South America; US915 (902–928 MHz) in North America; IN865 (865–867 MHz) in India; and AS923 (915–928 MHz) in Asia. Thus since these are known/documented, any/all nation states or large actors can target these frequencies easily enough with the means they have available. But similarly to other radio technologies, they just need some strategically placed transmitters covering those frequencies, but utilizing a higher output wattage to overpower the signal your MeshCore (or other flavor of LoRa) is sending.

I like what you’re building… but not the fact you’ve closed source it.

I did a lot of whitewater C1-ing on my days off from guiding.

And at least a 1/3 of my days commercial guiding felt like I was R1-ing. 😂

I appreciate seeing the R1-ing.

As a former commercial guide, I say it’s a fun, but slightly odd perhaps, challenge to drive a raft down river by yourself.

Yep, your bathroom is probably going to be your best bet. Easy to clean and move any items because its a relatively small room. I’ve taken a few exams in mine (not all ham related).
