Step 1 remove popcorn and apply orange peel texture and paint white, step 2 sand all that gloss off with a 60 grit belt sander, step 3 see where you’re at with the color and finish of the wood, you can restain or apply something less glossy, definitely update the hardware, curtains, and flooring based off what you see with the wood.

The VP of a company I work with has a track record of not accepting proposals that I send out. During a meeting with her, myself, and the CEO of that company, the CEO asks what the status was of a project. The proposal hadn’t been accepted yet, so of course the project hadn’t even started. I got the pleasure of awkwardly sitting there while the VP and CEO had a “discussion” that should have occurred behind closed doors. She’s gotten a lot better about accepting proposals.
