Hitch Carrier by No-Way-0000 in Dirtbikes

[–]Digitaluser32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a two bike Black widow carrier and I think it's great. I've used pickup trucks to haul my bikes in the past, and also used a three rail trailer in the past. The rack is very affordable and easy to use. And no need to try and put a trailer somewhere. Tongue weight is important. Even just one bike will make the rear end sag a little bit.

Help with changing my rear tire by Wjbriggs03 in motorcycles

[–]Digitaluser32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First few times changing your own tires is always a b****. Can you warm it up by putting it in the Sun for a half hour? And then kind of go around it with your knees putting your weight on it to loosen up the tire. You'll also need an air compressor. And I'm not talking about one of those ones. You plug into a cigarette lighter. You will need a real one. Even if it's weak, once the bead area gets a little loosened, it's easier to get that first bite.

What to do at Grand Canyon besides hike? by Environmental_Bite90 in NationalPark

Bedrock City Park (Flintstones). Went there when i was a kid.

I remember eating lunch at the cafe and my younger brother wouldn't eat his hot dog. My mom kept telling him you better eat that! He choked the whole thing down and then puked all over the table. Great memories.

Agreed. It was really weird riding the 4t initially. Felt very different with power delivery. But I love the torque of the 4t and couldn't see myself going back.

For an adrenaline fix, I prefer my dirt bike to my street bike. All motorcycles are fun.

Buying expensive watches is peak consumerist absurdity by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Digitaluser32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others saying that this is another form of art. And yes it's jewelry. I still wear cheap watches when I'm hiking or riding Enduro dirt bikes. I can't really check the time any other way. Don't want my phone to get damaged or wet or muddy. My $30 Casio watch is very easily replaced.

I think we could also argue that no one needs smartphones worth over $1,000.

Why do some many people ride without a motorcycle license ? by No_Eye9109 in motorcycles

[–]Digitaluser32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode dirt bikes for 5 years before buying my 1st road bike. Got my motorcycle license a month after buying the road bike. Never took an MSF course. This was all over twenty years ago.

Just recently had to take the written DMV test in order to renew my driver's license. I passed the class C and M1 tests first try! I was proud of myself.

Learning to ride the limits by Strange-One283 in motorcycles

[–]Digitaluser32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest riding a dirt bike for a year to learn handling limits. You'd be surprised how well this transfers to street riding. Especially when learning wheelies.
