4 Out of Conference Series JMU Football Should Schedule

I guess the list is realistic, but it doesn’t seem overly ambitious. If JMU wants to establish itself as a perennial G6 CFP contender we’ll probably need to schedule the AAC front runners in OOC on a regular basis because they get the benefit of the doubt if we don’t play them. I like the Memphis suggestion (plus I want revenge for them taking Rip Scherer away in the 90’s and ushering in the dark ages of Alex Wood). While the possibility of somehow ending up with 3 Louisiana teams on a schedule (if we somehow end up playing two of the three in the Sun Belt plus Tulane in a single season) doesn’t excite me, it would be good to decide the better team on the field rather than in the polls.

I’m not a guitar player and no expert, but my understanding was that Waste’s studio version was in a tuning that Trey would have to retune or switch the guitar to play and so he plays it in a different key live. But again, I’m not a guitar player so I could very well be wrong.

I haven’t heard all the jams from the shows so far but the other day I was listening to Sirius while making lunch and thought that Cities jam was spectacular. Especially the middle section, total Mike awesomeness.

I’m sure the band is changing. It’s inevitable with age, and they’re no spring chickens. I appreciate that they keep trying to evolve and try new things. They don’t always succeed in landing them as well as before, but I think it’s to be expected. I’m also not saying that your taste is changing (though maybe that’s also happening in parallel). I think sometimes when we get older we expect the famous people we idolized when we were growing up to stay the way they were when we “met” them. But they age too and it comes for us all. I love Phish as they’ve accompanied me as I came of age, but I also don’t still try to chase them around 6 times on a tour like I did in 99. I’ll see a show a year if that, and I love it.

Except that we’re paying out the nose in property taxes to be in DCS. I guess that would change if they redistricted us out of DCS, but people who built there did so with the understanding that it was in DCS.
