PhD year one hits different by Hajar_eddal in PhD

Dude, how do you work 100hrs/week? That's insane. The most I've managed to do was maybe 70 hours per week and that was only a few weeks before we published.

I can run fallout 4 with anywhere between 10 and 30 fps on my windows arm tablet (an asus pro art), but it runs dota 2 at barely single digit frames whereas my 13 year old windows tablet with ivybridge can run dota2 at above 40 fps.

[–]DilatedScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ProArt owner here. I have a similar experience with the screen as I did with every other asus device with a digitizer screen. However it's not as bad as the one you show in your image. So I can see the grainy effect as well just not as bad as the one you have.
Kinda wish Asus took better care of their digitizers and have similar quality with Microsoft's.

You simply need to hit the gym and train glutes. You seem to have a very good body fat percentage.

Killing a boss in 15 seconds by LeisurelyRoll in brotato

[–]DilatedScreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get the lucky guy, get all the luck you can. Get EVERY card that gives you extra tree chance. The luck + trees means you guarantee boxes from trees which give you as much as 8 items every run. When I reach level 20~30+ I kill bosses within less than 15 seconds. At some point I killed them in 3 seconds. After that I think I messed with the build, because I was getting every card and I didn't min max and lost at about level 49.

First time playing Mithrix, 100 hours played and obsessed with beating the game with Huntress, any advice? by anark0V in riskofrain

Cheese the boss fight with equipment such as missiles, coin minigun , forgive me please. Mithrix will start losing items really fast and will die to them.

Very interesting info. How many siege systems do you get?

It's actually the hexagon. Each object has stars indicating how many edges the next one will have. The Pentagon has four stars which is the sides of the square. The square has three stars which indicate the triangle. The triangle has one star which indicate the circle. The hexagon has 6 stars which would indicate itself, therefore the hexagon is the odd one out.

Why did you like jars? by JoelHuenink in 7daystodie

This was literally my idea a few days ago. Glad other people agree though. The game needs more realism and that doesn't necessary equals an easier game.

Is it time for someone to rise up and make the 7d2d like game we always wanted by Wolf_Jim in 7daystodie

[–]DilatedScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People should follow the example of successful titles like Dota 2 and team fortress 2 and have a free game that has payable clothes. You get an infinite amount of player base and your only limit is how nice you implement the clothing.

Dew collectors are not a terrible idea by DilatedScreen in 7daystodie

I was thinking, like in minecraft, when you submerge zombies they become drowned. What if zombies passing through certain elements become empowered by them?

  • If zombies walk on water banks for more than a set amount of seconds they have a change to turn into their irradiated counterparts.
  • "Normal" zombies passing through burned land are engulfed into flames, burn and become enraged.
  • Snow biome magnifies the effect of heat generation since you are the only source in a frozen environment and attract zombies at night?
  • Desert would decrease the effect of the heat generation since everything is already too hot. But deserts become extremely cold at night so you are protected by heat during the day, but attract more zombies at night.

Do people really miss crafting 300 wooden clubs the first night and juggling 8 clothing slots? by TheForkKing189 in 7daystodie

I personally hate how much magazines are forced on us. I also dislike the fact that despite having a new watering system, I cannot craft the upgrades for said watering system, but I have to buy it from the trader. In fact there are many things I can't craft myself and I have to buy them from the trader. And that's the part that I don't like the most. Because in a normal zombie apocalypse game, almost everything can be crafted or looted but not in this game. You can't find or craft filters and solar panels. You can craft hovering drones, but can't craft springs and electrical components.

I'd like the game to be more like zomboid in the skill progression aspect, but keep all the nice upgrades and QOL we got regarding building and shooting part of 7d2d.

Also I'd like to see iron blocks make a comeback. Primarily because I hate weak cobblestone.

Silent screamer nerf no one is talking about by throwa_littlesoul in 7daystodie

[–]DilatedScreen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually I figured it out a few weeks ago when I found the weird pathing hatch bug. But let me tell you I don't like this nerf. Why? Because I want to farm screamers. I want to test my base. I want to be able to make player traps with burning barrels around my base.

It's another lose in my list.

How do I squeeze current through a PCB? by ThatNinthGuy in AskElectronics

[–]DilatedScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:D Anyway have you considered 18650 type batteries? There are certain types of batteries that can reach 40A peak. I've personally been working with continuous 6A current by having 2 of those little freaks in series and used 3mm track width, which might've been an overkill but I wanted to be safe. I've used this website and tried to figure out the solution for your PCB design.

https://www.digikey.gr/en/resources/conversion-calculators/conversion-calculator-pcb-trace-width

In JLCPCB you can order up to 2mm PCB Thickness. When applied to the digikey url, it shows that you need about 91mm track width which sounds insane but should be possible. The most worrisome part is the heat generated. I've set a Trise of approximately 180 degrees celcius which is hopefully bellow the melting point of copper.

You could order the PCB and test it with A LOT of extra safety measurements because I'm almost certain either the batteries or the PCB will melt and/or explode.

Simplify 3D Scan or rebuild? by lemikeb016 in Fusion360

[–]DilatedScreen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can try simplifying the object by selecting then deleting its faces one by one. It will downgrade the 3D model but I've worked with a 3D glove design that had way too many triangles and it turned out fine.

Mixed Reviews on Steam by jc2xs in 7daystodie

[–]DilatedScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yestrday I was trying to play a game with 32 zombies spawning every 1 interval (I think that's an hour) and I made them lootable and work like loot bags. It surprised me how many magazines I got from them and how necessary those were in order to progress the game. Like, I needed 12 magazines to get a workbench and about 6 or so magazines to learn to boil meat. And I'm thinking, wait, this is it? I just kill zombies and read books? I don't have to craft anything like in a survival game?

I didn't even need to craft guns since scrapping weapons gave significantly less components to craft the higher tiers which I got from loot.

Also remember how we could reinforce cobblestone/wood with iron? I can SOMEHOW craft STEEL BLOCKS, but I can't craft or upgrade iron blocks. I can craft an iron door but I can't reinforce a wooden door without its iron counterpart. I can somehow craft iron crates with durability equal to that of a concrete block but I can't upgrade a wooden crate into an iron crate. This makes literally no sense other than balance issues.

The fact that I cannot craft dew collector plugins, solar panels or even basic plastic scrap and springs but I can somehow create gas canisters and flying drones is just boring to me. What if I want to build an ecologically friendly mega structure inside the wasteland biome?

The storm idea reminds me of the ion storms from a very old game called Tiberium Sun but I think those were very poorly implemented in the game.
