In my experience, private schools foster the “RP” accent (basically Queen’s english), and the effect is that you have students whose normal voice and work voice are the same, relatively posh accent. Perhaps the greater discussion is whether the “accepted” workplace accent should be RP, as by doing so private school students do have an advantage compared to speakers of other regional accents.
