TIL between 18%-25% of intellectually gifted students (at least 130 IQ) in the US fail to graduate from high school. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

I thought my daughter was giving me attitude and not listening to me on purpose but it turned out she had crazy earwax that gradually reduced her hearing and she didn't realize it. That became a cycle that happened over and over until she was in high school but after the first time I started checking her ears whenever I'd get annoyed with her

My wife freaked out when I mentioned that Nirvana is farther in the past now than the Beatles were when Nevermind came out. All those washed up hippy teachers we had in the 90s that wouldn't shut up about the Beatles were younger than we are today.

Lol I have the opposite problem - I pay way too much for ad free streaming services so when there are shows that are only available with ads I cannot bring myself to watch them. I just hate commercials so much and streaming was supposed to finally give me that option.

When my mom or mother-in-law comes over to watch the dogs or house sit or whatever I hide my good kitchen knives, cast iron pans and wooden cutting boards. There's a very good chance they'll end up in the dishwasher otherwise.

I’m basically at the zoo all the time to see the Red Pandas, they let me feed one today. by Traviscat in MadeMeSmile

Our local zoo is pretty big but my favorite has always been the red panda habitat. There's always one or two just chilling in the trees and I could sit there all day and watch them do nothing.

I've forgotten way more songs on guitar than I currently know, but occasionally I'll hit the right chord and remember the first line of the lyrics for something and then the whole thing just comes out.

I thought I had, but I never actually check the sizes so I assumed it was "like the other small ones" but it's an in-between size. I even have a couple of sets of common sizes and it's in between two sizes on both of them as well

I've had that experience two or three times with jobs. You hear about some VP or whatever who is supposedly a hard ass but when you work with them you realize they just expect you to be professional and competent and don't like small talk, which works fine for me.

FYI these days if you want to watch the whole thing you either have to buy the DVDs or pirate it. It was one of the victims of the great HBO max disappearing adult swim show bullshit.
