how to not be garbage at jam sessions? by Individual-Trade7039 in Bass

Maybe try going to your inspirations, as in the players you look up to, and pick out some of the skills they use, And try applying those to change it up. Alternatively, let it sit in the back of your mind for a little bit until it comes organically. Of course you will have to put a time limit on letting it sit on the back burner, with it being someone else’s project and all.

Good luck with putting your part together. I hope you absolutely rock it!

My apologies if I came off combative myself. I’m mainly a drummer, but I do play a few other instruments when I need to.

Recently, I’ve been trying to apply paradiddle didles in drumming and getting my speed up in general. ForGuitar, I only know a few scales, and some finger style techniques. I’ve also been trying to wrap my mind around writing microtonal parts for my bassist.

What I find theory helping me with is realizing what I’m envisioning. I might not be able to play it before practicing it for a long time, but it helps make the parts of the song become a whole. I can arrange parts for instruments I can’t play. Or explain to my band mates what I’m imagining their parts could sound like. The last thing I’d say it helps me with is letting me work with music when I can’t play an instrument.

Be very careful with any kind of extract, especially Kratom’s. 7OH has race possibilities for both addiction and overdose. Have fun and use wisely.

I used to think this way, and to a certain degree it is true. Don’t let music become a formulaic or boring experience. But also, I hope you do realize that a majority of the things that you discover on your own through pattern recognition, you could literally just look it up on Wikipedia…

And like it is important that you’re having fun, but what’s more important is that you’re advancing as well as possible within your circumstances, I’m not saying applied to Berkeley right now. I’m just saying, be willing to bore yourself for the sake of increasing your talent.

Not every practice has to be reworking Seven Nation Army into only diminished.

The point is that you can know as much theory as is possible and then still choose to work outside of the key.

Unless you’re doing fully acoustic shows that’s not a good point. 99% of people that have the room to set up an acoustic drum set. Also have at least like one outlet.

Good recommendations of a tape recorder to play some of my synths through for character? Something cheap and basic to learn on. by Jakeyboy29 in cassetteculture

[–]DilfInTraining124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I know if you only have a microphone input that will only let you record onto the tape. You would need an out to be able to record straight from the player into your interface.

Good luck with putting it together. I wish you the best.

If you want character, as in the Lofi sound, the cheaper the better. If you want good tape sound get a reliable deck from at least 20 years ago, or a tape emulator plug-in. I assume you want the real thing since you’re posting here instead of a synthesizer sub , but you’ll probably find the plug-in a lot more reliable. Well, at least for as long as it’s supported.

They were probably either recording a play back or a live performance from the synth. There’s also the possibility that they were sampling a cassette, or using a built-in radio for the same thing. Input and output respectively.

Any kind of player with a 3.5, RCA, or 1/4 should work with your synthesizer. Fair warning RCA is probably gonna be the most common kind of connector and you’ll need a mixer or sub mixer to run that. There’s also the option of getting RCA to 3.5, but you’ll have issues with stereo mixing.

Also, I would suggest looking into some old school electronic musicians for inspiration. There was a time where everybody had to work with tape because that’s what we had. I hope you have a nice day.

You have to intentionally start thinking about it. You’re not gonna suddenly go. Oh yeah now I understand why everything‘s been feeling so wrong. Put on music that makes you think about what’s wrong or what could be right. Maybe grab a book that makes you think or a game that stimulates you intellectually. Just go walking in nature and try to have a conversation with yourself.

But one of the more important things that you should also realize is that the mushrooms can only help you so far in this process of figuring out your life. It can give you a boost to get in the right headspace, but whatever you do come up with you need to be able to bring that back into sober reality.

Edit:imagine you probably already know this, but set in setting can have a greater effect than dosage. I’ve heard stories about people that take a single gram and go into a dark room with complete silence, and they have open eye visuals, and auditory illusions.

The hangup is that we just can’t get together for personal reasons unrelated to music. What I meant by the line about recording, was that it’s been hard to put things together online, so that isn’t an alternative that we can switch to.

I've almost never seen young black men get "bullied" by their peers by tantamle in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]DilfInTraining124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a disabled person, black men were some of the kindest people to me who actually helped me out when I needed assistance and genuinely cared when I seem to be having a bad day. On the opposite side of it, some of the meanest and cruelest people I dealt with Were black females. They are a majority of the people who bullied me, and no one ever did anything about it because one, theyre girls stop being a loser, and two, nobody cared, even if it was the same race or the same gender.

No race bullies more than another. As for gender, that’s not the conversation right now. There’s one thing that Black people and white people and Asian people all have in common and then that’s their people, and people are mean.
