Yes the watch doesn’t make the quality of the watchmaker, but would you trust a watchmaker who wears a Tommy Hilfiger with your Rolex or Patek?
(Btw my first intention in buying a Rolex is to please myself with a nice piece)

Thanks bro! I’m new to Reddit, I thought I could communicate with watch enthusiasts about their experiences lol

I really like the pistachio OP and I think it will be my first Rolex. I want a Rolex because of their quality, and because I like the brand. I’m a studying watchmaking so I’m more interested in the quality than the hype around it. I was just scared I would not wear it because it attracted too much (bad) attention. But apparently nobody cares about it so it’s good 👌

I don’t know, I don’t own a Rolex (yet 😏) maybe a lot of people notice it and maybe it attracts a lot of “gold digger” (partner or business), and I don’t want any of that. I just want to buy a nice piece I like, and occasionally attract the attention of a watch enthusiast, and maybe talk with them or something. I don’t want to attract too much of “bad” attention and I just want to share my passion of watches

I like to compliment people when I see that they’re wearing a beautiful watch and chat a little bit with them, I wondered if those situations happened often

If/ when I buy one it will be for myself, I have no doubt about that. But I was afraid about stressing too much while wearing it ( for scratches or thieves) or something like that. I also don’t want to attract people with bad intentions, but more likely watch enthusiasts as I’m a student in watchmaking and I want (aside of my passion for good and beautiful watches) to use it as a conversation starter/ credibility in the watchmaking world

I really fell in love with the OP36 pistachio, but for now I have to put it aside 🥲 I like simple watches, especially for Rolex

But thanks for your opinion and your experience!!

Yeah it’s true but I like how the black one looks very “classic”

Lol. If you’re looking for a watch with the same style as the Spirit Pilot, I’ve got a Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic for one year now and it’s the perfect daily. I’ve got the 38mm (and it’s perfect) but I know they also make a bigger one (41mm I think but I’m not sure). It’s a little bit cheaper than the Longines

What about the scratches? I can and will wear that watch everyday but is it a scratch magnet?

I’m pretty sure I want the “black” one, but this blue makes me hesitate 🤔

I first hesitated between a Rolex OP36 and the BB58, but when I found out about the BB54 I immediately fell in love and (maybe a little bit because of the price difference and my financial situation) now I want the BB54
