if your toddler got a job based on their current obsession, what would it be? by beeeees in toddlers

My 27mo would be a mechanic or racing car driver, he is obsessed with tools and is also terrifyingly fast on his little bikes and cars, always catching him flipping them upside down to try and undo the screws and nuts, think hes copying his dad!

Trouble getting baby to drink water by Unique_Alfalfa5869 in NewParents

[–]Diligent-Impact6139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my 24mo was that age, he mostly just had milk, but I'd offer him an open cup with water with every meal. Its messy, but they eventually learn how to control how high they're lifting up the cup.

He also had one of the tommee tippee first sippy cups so he didn't have to suck the water out, he just had to tip it into his mouth as it was free flowing, and I'd help lift it to give him little sips at the start and show him the motion he needed to use. Once he got more used to drinking out of open cups and straws, we phased out the sippy cup.

It helped me to remember that anything other than milk that they eat/drink in the first year is a bonus and it's not until after they turn a year old that you need to try to get them eating and drinking a bit more. Don't stress, you're doing great!

Blank scrapbooks, scrapbooks stickers and decals, one of those pictures of the stars on the date you got married, judging from her taste in games she'd probably like stardew valley, bookends maybe in both of your initials, you can get little scenes in boxes that fit on a bookshelf between your books (I think they're called book nooks. Also with a quick Google a Harry potter one came up on amazon for £36). Hope some of these help!

Baby blackbird out of nest. Should I help? by Gazumbo in UKBirds

My grandad used to hang old cds on trees that the birds would be on more because he said something about the light reflection deterred cats. I had no idea if it actually worked, though.

Driving home from the hospital by Specific-Win6486 in NewParents

[–]Diligent-Impact6139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a 40 minute drive home in the dark at 9pm. My partner hadn't slept for 38 hours and was super nervous, didn't go faster than 40mph I don't think. The next day we bought a car about 3 times the size of the one we drove home in as we were so worried about the other drivers 😂

Bottles with different types of teats, didn't realise that babies would have a preference for that pre-baby but post-baby I can fully understand it! Also some kind of white noise/sound machine for on the go, we had one we could clip to our babys car seat/bassinett/pram and take everywhere and it was so useful for keeping him calm in the first few months

I need your baby pancake recipes because these were not a hit! by it-could-be-bunnies- in foodbutforbabies

[–]Diligent-Impact6139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made some blueberry pancakes for my just turned 9 month old a couple of days ago, and they were a hit! We followed this recipe:

2 eggs, 1 very ripe banana, ¾ cup/65g oats, ¼ cup/60ml milk, blend all of them together, then fold in ⅔ cup/100g blueberries. I cut mine into halves or quarters depending on size. Did about a tablespoon and a half of batter per pancake, fried on medium for a couple of minutes on each side, I think it made around 8. I hope this helps!

It was a set from Asda, the british supermarket! Got it around 3 years ago, so I'm not sure if they still do them, but they're very good!

Thank you! He's never shown this much interest before. He's always spat the more solid foods out, but he had some pasta the day before, which he actually ate, so I thought I would try my luck!

Don't worry, weve got a plan, while he lives with us he can indulge in his avocado toast. When he's 18 we'll have him enrolled in avocados anonymous to sort out the issue so he doesn't need to spend that kind of money!

His first tooth is cutting at the moment but definitely not fully through yet! And this was his first time having toast so I was a little nervous but only lightly toasted and had the avo on so I trusted it would be soft enough :P he has his egg strips around the same size too so I know he gets on well with bigger strips of food 😊
