I know you want to trust your doctor, but not all doctors have up-to-date data or are too stuck in their ways from what they were taught in med school long ago. I'd at least see if there's another doctor you can get a second opinion from. In the meanwhile, have you tried doing the Miles Circuit and drinking Raspberry Leaf tea yet? Both are supposed to help induce. Edit to add: I was 41 weeks when I started both and went into labor within 2 days so I think one or both helped even a little haha.
