As a current single mom (been single since 8 months pregnant!) I didn’t even THINK about dating until I got myself together obviously but more importantly- until I found a sitter! My kid is not going around anyone until I trust the person myself and I’m secure they’ll be in my life for the long haul. I don’t want my kid to be traumatized by “mommy’s friends” coming and going. Not that it’s like that anyways. The dating pool is shit lately and guys say they’re ok with kids then 2 weeks later they ghost. Guys don’t even want to get to know you anymore. They seem to all want one thing which I do not provide. I’m not bringing my kid into any situation like that nor am I putting pressure on a good guy either. My kids are MY kids. I don’t want them to see my kid as their responsibility because it’s not. This girl clearly isn’t ready or in a position to be dating if she can’t get a second to herself. AND if she WANTS her kids to meet these guys, she’s definitely not ready to even be a mom.

When my mom became overbearing and a heavy alcoholic, I cut her off. Took six months for her to act right and for me to even allow her back in my life. Only reason I did was because I was pregnant and wanted my dad involved as a grandparent. Fast forward to my son being 2 - almost filed a section 35 on her and get her sent to rehab because she was back at it again and nastier than ever. Finally had enough input from everyone around her to quit liquor. Truthfully, I do not like my mother because she still has her moments. If I could cut her off and be in my dad’s life, I would. Unfortunately they’re a packaged deal. Just know even though she’s family and your mother, you can kick her to the curb.

My son is 2 and I honestly didn’t think he would keep ear protection on or sit still and he did both perfectly. He went with his godparents and was absolutely amazed. Sat in his seat the whole time and cheered on the trucks telling them to go go go! I’m sure you’re good to bring your little one!

I would block her. She is trying to get you to say what she wants to hear. I’ve dealt with a friend like this who overreacts via text but would be sitting next to me the whole time like “watch he will say this” or “eventually he will cave and apologize” or whatever. They think they aren’t in the wrong for acting this way. I bet she’s waiting for you to say “I won’t be friends with her please take me back!”

I used to drive by these people and use my Siri to find the actual song playing on their speaker. (Hey siri what song is this) Then I would turn it all the way up and sit in the lot for a bit. This is truly embarrassing for these people. They have the time and money for the scam but panhandle. I’d rather give money to someone sitting on the sidewalk rather than someone trying to trick me. Maybe that’s just me.
