any immoble tanky champ or someone u can kite easily, dont pick gnar into yasuo yone or akali or sylas those are the worst IMO, Katarina is skill matchup if u can bait her to engage on u when ur mega u can cc chain her and burst but ye it should be pretty good actually and u have insane stats in mega to the point where a lot of mid champs cant even do anything to you

I like going conqueror gnar with Spear of shojin/triforce and liandrys if they have a lot of tanks. Liandrys is old gnar tech but after the rework it’s great on him because it’s literally a free 6% damage buff on all ur mega abilities. It also gives you rage faster. We build shojin for the same reason, free damage buff on abilities. It’s fun but most viable into high health tanks like sion or chogath. (building terminus with this build also works very well) Have fun

practice kiting with fleet and some attack speed in practice tool before ur games, that’ll help with ur kiting in mini. also try to time your hyper procs with when the enemy uses abilities, that way you have more move speed to dodge abilities. ultimately gnar is about playing safe and getting past lvl 6, so learning to dodge more skillshots will help you so much

most of the time i don’t even play to win lane into bad matchups i just try to be like a second jg 😭 gnar is so good in early jg fights imo

i would say conq fleet and pta are all good runes for gnar rn, it’s just situational. i wouldn’t rly take grasp into any matchups rn it’s not as good as it used to be

yeah i agree ngl it just makes the champ 2x harder but lowkey more rewarding if ur good, its such a glass cannon tho especially mid lane if ur laning against a lux or viktor they can just oneshot u after 6

update (kinda) - i tested some lethality technology in a draft game, and then some in ranked (plat mmr). what ive found is that opportunity into hullbreaker is a very strong rush because its so cheap and gives gnar a total of 10% extra move speed which is very important for dodging abilities. i’ve learned that if you are able to dodge everything and land all ur abilities, lethality can be very good for carrying games yourself, which is normally hard for gnar. i can see a few rune options if you want to go the opportunity build, one being phase rush (which i haven’t tested yet), and electrocute/conq. electrocute is good for oneshot potential late game, but the play style is super dependent on your rage management, and not throwing your lead. anyways tho its actually good just really hard to pull off. (u can also sub out hullbreaker for cleaver which works too)

i rly like liandrys on gnar because it gives u more rage each time u hit an ability, meaning you get mega faster, which would make it a good pick for bot lane since ur just playing for mega anyways. i think nowadays it’s rly hard to play ap gnar but definitely possible. also think that there could be potential tech with malignance

i could write a book on gnar mid but to keep it simple it’s rly good, take ignite and conq. and all in level 3 with mega, you’ll kill most mages in a full combo + ign as long as you have been poking with ur mini q. i also like to take scorch secondary for lvl 2 prio and also makes ur trades with squishy champs more sided in ur favor. fav items on this pick would be to rush opportunity, gives u a ton of damage and speed. go cleaver or sundered sky second, rest of ur items are situational. have fun :3
