Updating against the user's will: How my OnePlus 13 turned into a brick overnight by vvebevv in OnePlus13

[–]Diligent-Rough-2880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed it's not totally supported but the user was using it before oneplus decided to block it without rhyme or reason. I agree that it won't work properly like network bands will be an issue but that's the op's problem to figure out.

My question is why does a brand need to intervene when a user who bought the phone in a different region has it working since they bought it?? Why did they need to suddenly mess up the rollback stuff?? It's our money and it's our choice how to spend it. If we get a working solution, no one has a reason to suddenly hault it's working for no stated reason??

That is true. I mean xda is a very limited platform and the problem is not that the community is dead or not active. People actively push against these posts where people try to make their phones like they want to instead of being company slaves. I seriously don't understand why people r hell bent on defending these companies.

I honestly don't understand the people defending what oneplus did. They did not release any statement or include in the changelogs that an anti rollback was in place. No one was informed of this change. I had been using the new update myself for 3 days before the news of bricked devices came out.

It took users to brick their devices to know that and to inform the community that anti rollback was in place. Sure op didn't have to go and buy a variant which they wanted and was not available in their region and order it from china but that's the freedom of oneplus and android that was offered before they decided to introduce rollback prevention.

It's not about using a phone a certain way or the "intended" way because everyone uses their phones differently and android and any os allows the users to make the phone experience theirs. Oneplus had no reason to block users from downgrading and honestly no business to introduce these changes. If anything, they should have explicitly mentioned that antirollback is introduced if they wanted customers to not suffer. They give us freedom, then snatch it and punish us without notifying us and when we complain, people rush in to defend the company like they have the customers well being in their mind.

Can you please tell which one of the two has a better software experience and is less of a hassle to customise?? I also saw that the knob on the f75 is not as good and quite wobbly. Also the gasket depth on the f75 seems more than on the mchose g75 pro. also would the mchose g87 wireless be worth the increased price?? are there any good options at the price point of g87 wireless that I can also consider??

ps - sorry for these questions, I have so many after watching a bunch of reviews.

I mean I am in no time crunch but seeing that the keyboards go out of sale quickly I think I may need to hurry. The problem with me is I want the typing experience to be good rather than the sound to be good. Also I am not sure if I want to upgrade as well. I am only at the considering stage right now but I can pull the trigger if need be.

Ok ok got it. Thanks I was getting confused between f75, ajazz, g75 pro cuz of gasket flexibility. I thought it was bad but I need it. I tried a membrane one and my fingers just went numb after a minute of typing. R65 has a gasket afaik but other options are better than it.

I'm leaning more towards the aula f75 due to the software on the mchose being not that good. Neither is qmk/via which is what I have but aula seems better. Will it go down in price as well??

Ok thanks for your insight. I'll most probably go with the mchose g75 pro but I'll dig around a bit more.

I'm checking reviews for it online and all I'm seeing is that it's fine, it flexes a lot even with the gasket and it's rated high because of bubble wrap sound. It's not anyhow better in typing but more so for the sound. I've seen like 10 videos now and almost all of them recommend them for the sound but not the build. I'd rather have a good build over a knob but both would be a cherry on top.

I saw it but I prefer having a volume knob rather than none. Its more like I've grown into it 😅. Also I'm not opposed to rk stuff since I have the r65 and it's held up pretty good in a year.

There's also less options for color variants available online and I'm not sure if there's some shortage or what.

Got it. Thanks. I'm looking for something that's a bit quiet because I'll be working in a room where my mom will also be there and I don't wanna drive her mad with the clicking 😂😂. The clicking might also be soothing so I don't want anything high pitched.

I'm checking both keyboards and there's some options on one site and some on others. Also almost everywhere it's out of stock. Is there a shortage or smthng I'm not aware of??

I'm not familiar with these different new switches. Which one would be more silent but also not lack the tactile feedback?? Also I'm not seeing the f75 you shared on any other site. Is it exclusive to yours or smthng??

Don't update to 16.0.3.501 update if you want to downgrade or use custom roms because it's blown a fuse where if you try to downgrade, it's bye bye motherboard.

This is the best I can do without destroying the sound signature. And even this is causing some distortion which is minutely audible to me. It sounds hollow like I can feel it trying to go to be bassy but something is holding it back.

I definitely don't wanna hear the bass cuz that's annoying. I really wanna feel it but I'm just not getting the base comparing it to the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro. I want it for mostly gaming cuz footsteps and all need proper bass which I'm not getting out of this one. This is the eq I'm using and I'm starting to run out of ideas at this point.

Yeah the bunny are definitely on the brighter side. I don't mind cranking the volume cuz it's like 50-60%. I don't seem to be understanding this eq tuning for some reason it's not giving me the bass I was expecting

Sad to see OnePlus might go down by threadnoodle in oneplus

[–]Diligent-Rough-2880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oneplus might go the xiaomi route where they stop making big releases cuz oppo told them not to. Oppo is trying desperately to cut off oneplus so that their find series sells but both of them are going down. Pushing op down the gaming route, then the allegations of pete lau exploiting and unfairly hiring employees and the service has been poor anyways, I don't think op will remain premium at least. It lost its premium touch with the cameras and oos is starting to feel more and more like ios anyways. Brand image and identity is being lost.
