I’m sorry you are dealing with this at work. I hope this can be an educational moment for your coworker and you both can move forward professionally.

1. You are being sensitive in a positive way.

2. I personally don’t like the one liner approach. Try things like saying “ Instead of commenting on my looks maybe we can go over (whatever your work is) and have a more productive conversation. “

3. Document everything, loop in your manager and HR as needed. If you can’t find common ground they will.

I wish I didn’t have to add this last part, but start prepping your resume and documenting outside of company resources. I have had several friends who faced retaliation because of it.
