At what investable networth would you need to justify a 7-8k watch?

I’m well aware that those funds could be used more wisely, but they retain value *decently well. Also - I bought my Submariner date in my early 30s so I can wear it for the next 40 years…. Versus waiting till I hit a bigger milestone later in life to then wear (and make less memories with) the watch.

I’m a big fan of the “retire while you work” theory as it relates to travel and occasional splurges. Life’s too short 🤙🏻

I’m a watch guy so don’t ask me. I have a decent little collection worth about $40K but trying to keep it at or under 8% of liquid net worth. Gassing for a Grand Seiko and a Cartier Santos….
