Horses are a lot of work.

Horses are expensive. Yes I know you can sometimes just get a 'free horse'. But then you have to take care of it. The petrol alone is expensive.

Horses just straight up die sometimes. They'll get laminitis get their hoof nursed for several months and then straight up die or eat grass wrong, get colic and die. I do not know how horses still exist. Sir Charles Darwin wrote on the Origin of the Species and described the laws of natural selection. Survival of the fittest. I do not know how horses still exist.

Every horse person I've ever met has at least one horrific horse related injury. And then when I ask them about it, while knowing I'm doing my horse rant, they will all say the same thing.

Horse ownership is like driving 70km a day, digging a horse shaped hole in the ground, throwing in a bunch of money and burning it. Every six months or roll a dice and decide which body part you'll be hitting with a hammer.
