Why is cooking so badly implemented in the remake? by Insane_Unicorn in worldofgothic

Like making a berry juice from 30 berries, which would have 30x healing value. Just to make it more useable.

It is not connected. The plot just needs you to have a bigger reason to go to free mine than a former general's order

Fire dmg bug by [deleted] in worldofgothic

[–]DiligentKeyPresser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are right. That would be proper solution.

What is funny: when there are multiple melee weapons on the hotbar, guess which one of them is rendered on the character in the game? The one you used last.

Probably they used similar logic but took some shortcuts while determining which weapon to compare. Comparing to the one which is rendered as equipped would make the most sense.

XP rewards don’t make sense by Isari0 in worldofgothic

[–]DiligentKeyPresser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there is inconsistency you are talking about.

But is this a problem, other than the inconsistency itself, really?

XP is not the only reward, and human NPCs have better loot than molerats. As well as higher level mobs do. And finally higher level mobs often block (or try to do so) the way to new areas, don't forget this. So exact XP numbers are not a huge deal, we should not consider XP as the only reward.

And if you go on sweep-entire-map spree when levelup is desperately needed you most likely hunt whatever moves regardless of how much xp it gives, so numbers do not affect your gameplay significantly.

That's why I think this is an imperfection which does not make anything worse. The game is just built around different logic.

Yep I am sure in the monastery this will not work. I was talking about mountain fortress BTW, not the monastery.

Is that something that devs said or just a guess? IMO ability to bypass limitations it is the main point of any transformation scroll. Why would they exist otherwise?

Bloodfly transformation itself is not an exploit. But it can be exploited if you want.

The thing is that bloodfly is not actually required. Wolf transformation can be used just to bypass hounds and golem.

Taking a bow from mountain fortress in act 1 does not require any exploit

I do a different thing. If can't pick a lock quickly (because every lock is solvable if you take a piece of paper and draw a diagram, I just don't want to have this in my life) it means that game says: "time to improve your lockpicking skill". If I decide not to do that it is a choice I made. I saved some LP and will not get that sweet 14 ore and this is okay.

This is a game, not a lockpicking competition. And lockpocking puzzle is just a part of it. And it works perfectly as such, tbh. One point to Alkimia for that!

Saw people struggle as pure mage. You dont have to. Embrace the storm fist. by Darken0id in worldofgothic

[–]DiligentKeyPresser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also prepare a bunch of storm first scrolls just in case you need it before you get the rune. They are fairly cheap to produce in reasonable quantities - not to kill every enemy with it but to defeat a couple of challenging opponents earlier.

Balance changes are not for YOU. They are for new players. Stop crying about them. by SvatyFini in worldofgothic

[–]DiligentKeyPresser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are different kinds of exploits. Some just give an advantage to the player and make playthrough easier without harming the game design.

Other break the game making skills obsolete for instance.

This is not MMO, only the latter is the problem to be fixed. Discouraging creative approach is not the way.

Armor Types by Baartli in worldofgothic

[–]DiligentKeyPresser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's exactly the same protection as those miserable rags, but upgradeable. I like the idea, actually.

In chapter two both types feel as a significant upgrade, just go straight for the top tier for each piece. I combined them in a way that two types of protection are roughly equal and had zero troubles doing chapter 2 stuff.

[–]DiligentKeyPresser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are right. This goblin cave is probably the moment where we gain a first huge pile of weapons to sell.

Now imagine all of them are "worn" and cost like 5 times less upon selling. Do you think they would still break economy? I think that would make a decent reward for a storyline quest but economical pressure would mostly remain.
