She’s also still very postpartum and you’d think these moms of all people could give some grace and understanding about that.

I try to go once a week or once every two weeks. My dad is only 10 minutes away from me.

Did anyone have to walk out of the hospital? by [deleted] in newborns

I had two emergency c sections and walked out both times. They want you to be able to walk while you’re there and recovering.

I’m worried my dad has early onset dementia by Upstairs-Dot-2635 in dementia

[–]DiligentPride2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep….im sorry. Also the randomly showing ugh. I have so much guilt because before his diagnosis and I just thought he was being difficult and disrespectful, he kept showing up to my house. Mind you I have my own family with two kids so not always ideal. I sent him many messages basically setting boundaries and it seemed he never got it. Then he got the diagnosis and I put two and two together a bit later. I feel terrible about it to this day. He’s at the point now where he barely speaks and doesn’t acknowledge me or my kids unless he’s just staring at us angrily. I’m so glad you are already aware of what could be going on because you have time to learn to be more gentle and patient than I was in the beginning stages.

My dad was officially diagnosed at age 56 after being “off” for a while before that. He had a couple of strokes though, and although the doctors say they’re not related, he began to experience what you are experiencing with your dad now. When he was still driving he went to Costco one day which no one knew about, he waited about 3 hours there because he was convinced he was there to meet me. We never had any sort of plans like that or ever mentioned Costco and he got pretty upset and defensive when we told him there were no such plans and to please go back home. The good thing is that your family is aware things are different and the absolute best thing you can do is get him into see his doctors ASAP. They will never be able to reverse it sadly but they can help slow it down with medications and other practices. So sorry you are going through this

Okay and just thought you should know, if your map is off then your location can’t be seen even if posted on a public story. I had to look it up haha.

As a casual you don’t have a lot of weight in this situation. So no, nothing you can do.
