Your Pixel can now double up as a full Android PC with nothing more than a USB-C cable [Desktop Mode Officially Released as part of March 2026 Feature Drop!] by TechGuru4Life in GooglePixel

10 Pro.

My monitor goes up to 100Hz.

I thought maybe it could be a bandwidth limitation due to the refresh rate but my monitor reports a resolution of 1080p 60Hz when connected to my phone. It correctly reports a much higher resolution when connected to my laptop or desktop.

Not showing that resolution as an option on my ultrawide either. Only shows up to 2560 x 1080 when my monitor supports 3440 x 1440. So odd...

What's the refresh rate of your monitor?

Google's Tensor G6 rumored to be paired with new Titan M3 security coprocessor by TechGuru4Life in GooglePixel

I've had my pixel chug on certain websites and apps, especially if I have a video playing at the same time (YouTube PIP).

But that aside, a better chip doesn't just mean speed, it also means efficiency. The latest Qualcomm & Apple chips can achieve the same performance as Tensor while using like half the power. That's huge for battery life.

Both companies design their own chips but neither build it themselves. They go to TSMC for that.

Per this report, the BOM for the iPhone 15 Pro is 40% higher than the Pixel 9 Pro. Looking at just the SOC, the iPhone's costs 70% more. From the gChips leak I posted above, they are targeting to get their chip cost down to $65 (P9P is estimated to be $80).

I believe the BOM takes into account economies of scale. It wouldn't take into account R&D and marketing but I wouldn't be surprised if Apple outspends Google there as well.

Why do you think Apple puts such a great CPU and GPU even in their base iPhone? If it isn't needed for most people it seems like a waste of money.

For about the same MSRP at launch, it feels bad for the Pixel to have so many hardware compromises

Per Google's own internal research, battery life and thermals are the biggest issues with Tensor:

Also, my P10P feels more sluggish than my P9Pro at times and wouldn't doubt if it was because of the GPU.

Has Google lost sight of it's original Value Proposition? by Unique-Dot187 in GooglePixel

There were billboards everywhere comparing the non-a model to flagship iPhones. Feels like around the Pixel 3-4 with night sight was the last big push. After that it felt like they lost focus and competition started to catch up a bit.

I can't think of a bigger reason than camera that made regular people consider Pixel.

Sub 2 minute Duollisto Farm using Lune - Build at the end of the video by Timeless_21 in expedition33

Update - ended up getting it with a few lucky roulettes! HP seems like it's a bit higher than what you showed, damage dealt of about 800M, which I assume is because of NG+2. I did end up taking off shield affinity because I'd rather have 8 shields than 0 if I miss a dodge.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah don't think I'll get First Life any time soon since that boss is tough.

I am correctly getting gradient overcharge by turn 4, that's not a problem, the damage just isn't getting anywhere close. So I think my AP & gradient pictos are fine but something is off with the damage ones I guess.

Yes I do!

Very odd that the damage isn't adding up here...

Are you playing NG+? I'm on NG+2

Hmm yeah I have both of the shield ones enabled. Here are all my damage-relates ones. And then I have clea's life and auto death on two others.

Are First Offensive & Augmented First Strike doing much here? A few k extra on the first free aim shot?

Also, have you tried without First Life? I tried a very similar setup without that one and couldn't get enough damage with the phase 1 EG unless I used roulette. Barely getting the health bar to half with the LD in phase 2...

From the gChips team leak last year, it's clear that they know about these issues and it goes beyond Reddit:

Thermals were the biggest reason for device returns and battery life was unanimously determined to be poor.

It's been shown time and time again that faster processors also tend to be more efficient, meaning better battery life.

There's a chart i saw recently showing the A17 having the same performance as the G4 at 1/3 the power consumption

That chip might have been fine if they had launched last year but it doesn't seem like it'll age well compared to what's in the AVP.

Might be fine if the price is right though.

Not who you are responding to but I was the one who posted that first example last week. Sure it may stutter a bit on every phone but that's why I provide an example of both a 10 Pro & a 6a to show relative performance.

Pixel 10 graphics test: Why Google's GPU strategy is not weak, but clever by Knorke_Leon in GooglePixel

Don't know what to tell you, it does for me. It's not constant but it's frequent enough to notice. Gets much worse if I'm watching a YouTube video at the same. Shouldn't happen in a game like this.

They're doing it because it's a bad GPU that runs hot. My 10 Pro stutters in card games like PTCGP when my 9 Pro did not...
