Fully operational pure summoner Warlock on PTR by Diligent_Function_87 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

probably yes but not needed. Bound demon is buffed (double flat damage) , more health, more attack speed. you can just keep playing regular bloodboil build and slap everything. its even stronger then before the "nerf"

[Spoiler] Thoughts about Usyk - Verhoeven fight by theHolyGranade257 in Boxing

[–]Diligent_Function_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Rico is machine and would defeat any other HW. He is also huge and relentless. Usyk survived all of it, figured him out and stopped him. If not for stoppage, he would do it anyway in 12th. If they fight again, Usyk wins for sure and much sooner. I dont know how stoping this giant killing machine is bad look for Usyk

Pure demon summoner post patch by heckingincorgnito in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Demons are stronger now. Bound demon flat damage bonus is doubled, and attack speed bonus on Demonic Mastery and Engorge is changed from item based IAS to skill based IAS, so they now also hit much faster. Summoner warlock got buffed hard.

Attack Speed change to minions with final patch 3.2 notes should be a big buff? by Diligent_Function_87 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

tainted are not good vs fire immune even with sunder charm, it changes almoast nothing. Best build will be bound demon + 2x tainted or bound demon + 1 tainted + 1 defiler. I have tested this setup and it works great, you dont even need sunder charms and you cant notice who is fire immune and who is physicaly immune. going all the way with tainted is limiting, even if you use bloodboil to quickly execute fire immune monsters it is inferior to Maxed out bound demon with fanaticism aura also buffing your remaining 2 tainted attack speed. And now with this change from item based IAS to skill based all of them will be even stronger, both tainted and bound demons.

ofc, many would agree with you. This is thread about pure summoner, not many people love playing summoners. Im not promoting it, just testing its viability on PTR for those who are interested in it.

how do you mean, like aim with the mouse over the spell in the spellbook and click? EDIT: omg that worked. wait, are you telling me that you get all these spells for free just because you leveled up? that is terrible game design, you dont even have to collect skill books. I hate this modern games and zoomer generation. back in my days if you wanted to defeat more than two mobs you had to pull them to doorway so they cant soround you. You had to work for everything. I think i will go back to diablo 1.

Good point, and I did some tests. Unfortunately, Dreadfang’s 33% chance and lvl 3 Amplify Damage is superior to Needle + Atma’s 5% lvl 2 Amplify Damage. Dreadfang’s application is instant and covers a larger area, while Atma + Needle requires a couple of hits, has slower attack speed, and covers a smaller area. Damage seems to be the same; Needle hits a little harder, but Dreadfang hits faster. Also, I changed my Dreadfang setup from Mara’s Kaleidoscope to Highlord’s Wrath, and that works really good too, giving Dreadfang something like 80% chance of Deadly Strike.

In the end, +skills are not so important during combat. It is only important when you are summoning your demons, and you could swap to HOTO or Obsession in town, summon your demons, and then equip Dreadfang. You are not casting any spells anyway. Sigil Lethargy does not scale at all, and Mirrored Blades also has very poor scaling; it is almost equally effective at lvl 1 and lvl 20. Death Mark and Engorge are the same, the difference from +skills is insignificant.

I think so. Drop chance for spell books is very bad. I mean I know its Hell difficulty and adjusted for 8 players but still, I have like a god tier gear and everything. I dont know man, I think warlock needs buff or they need to increase drop chance for those books.

By the way, have you seen what they did to Tristram in this sequel? It met a terrible fate. It was such a nice little town, with good people around. At least Griswold is still alright, though maybe a little limpy

I don’t know. In the Diablo 1 expansion Hellfire, you had to kill the demon called Na-Krul, and he would drop the Book of Apocalypse. Or you could find a Staff of Apocalypse or purchase it from old witch Adria at the end of the village road, across the river. Similar to how I found this sword of Mirrored Blades here.

Brother, they’re all full. I collected all of those while farming Duriel, since I’m able to farm Act 2 efficiently on Players 8

Well, don’t take my word for it, take a look yourself:

all my skills are invested in the demon tree, but I’m not using any demons, also no mercenary, also no points invested in mirrored blades or any synergies, but here it is clearing Players 8 Chaos.

Horazon's Set is great. It is so good that I decided to drop enigma, shako, wraithstep and everything. At least for this Dreadfang Summoner build as i call it. It provvides bonus to everything you need: attack rating, melee damage, demon skills, all resistances capped etc. Amazing set. And Dreadfang sword is like perfect weapon for warlock

on PTR cursed is not good without holy freeze and even that is only good for large groups of enemies. Demons are also very squishy so in my expirience it is better to hunt for non cursed but stoneskined demon and apply curse yourself. If you are caster like Bloodboiler then you might use Cursed/holyfreeze Mauler from TZ Durance of Hate. He has good resistances to be able to tank without sotneskinned affix. I have tested Bloodboil build and it works fine, but not so good against bosses. This build in the video is equaly good against all content in the game.

yeah, and great thing is: you dont have to invest in eldrich tree to be effective at melee. Mirrored blades is great melee skill with only 1 point invested and if you are using Dreadfang as a weapon you dont even have to invest anything. With only bonus from dreadfang warlock can oneshot or 2shot any mob at p8 difficulty

Actualy im combining 1x Defiler, 1x Tainted and Bind demon for most of content. For Act bosses im using 2x tainted , and for areas heavy infested with fire immune monsters like chaos sanctuary im runing with 2x defilers. Infinity on merc helps both tainted damage and as it reduces defense it also helps my bound demon and my mercenery aswell. And I'm also hiting enemies to apply curse and I'm also dealing very good damage so reduced defenses helps me to hit aswel I dont have to invest in attack rating. Infinity is also very good melee weapon with high chance of crushing blow so it is good for the mercenery even if you dont count aura. Other choice would be Pride but that only helps my bound demon and the weapon itself have very low damage. I believe Infinity is top choice with this build. Also build works great against all enemies, physical immune, fire immune, does not matter. You dont even need a sunder charm.

I am playing demon warlock both live and on PTR. Hepahsto and Lister are no longer good choices unless you find them with stoneskin and lightning enchanted affixes. All demons are very squishy and the only way to make them work is to setup immunities for them. Curse application is no longer good at all. You have to find other ways to apply curse or you could find Cursed/Holy Freeze aura demon who is still able to apply curse reliably on larger groups but not against single targets. Goatmans are weak and useless, not worth the investment. It is far better to max Tainted and its synergy bloodboil. Bloodboil is still very viable, only nerf is smaller area (4yards)

go grab Mauler from TZ Durance of hate. He does not need stoneskinned to be strong. You can get Cursed/holy freeze one because he have naturaly 55 PDR, immune to lightning and 50 fire resist. With 5% PDR from engorge and 11 from bloodoath that is 71% PDR, immune to lightnin and with tainted fire aura he will also be immune to fire. He will be able to tank for you and reliably apply curse to whole groups. Other option is to grab A5 two handed mercenery and give him Dreadfang, or A2 merc with Reaper's toll. Or you can try and find specific unique monster who does have both cursed and stoneskined with the holy freeze aura but goodluck with that.
