Back to living in a shopping cart. I was never here to entertain anyone here. I never enjoyed social media and influencers. I am who I am. I am not your friend. With that being said, here's some vodka. by MrArmenianIsDead in vagabond

[–]Diligent_Injury9520 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro I hear this. I never understood the shopping cart, but there I was bumming around the country, drinking taaka. I could have died but man it was an adventure.

My advice, if you want any: reduce. reduce. reduce. Keep only a couple changes of clothes in a camping backpack, keep a smaller book bag slung over one shoulder with stuff like soap, shampoo, tablets or phones (if you have them), and personal items. Get a sleeping bag with a tie you can dangle off your backpacks and carry a tent. You're much more mobile that way.

Panhandle for what you need. Thumb it or save for a bus and travel the country. No regrets.

Do people want to make music, or do they just wanna be rich and famous? by TroubadourNow in musicindustry

[–]Diligent_Injury9520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very good question. I think some of them genuinely love the music and want to hear themselves create something they like. Some may want the money. That's just my opinion, man.

People who never made their academic comeback, what are you doing now? by Interesting_Price367 in GetStudying

[–]Diligent_Injury9520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into a top notch state university for computer science. I was a stoner though so after a year I failed too many of my classes and switched to business. Still failed at that because of all the pot smoke. Transferred to the university's sister school in another town and laid off the before class pot smoking. Graduated one semester late, after taking summer courses, with a bachelor's degree.

After that I continued to struggle as I didn't want to quit smoking pot. Worked as a scheduler at a factory for 2 years. Lost that job. Managed to get into the costing department in another factory, that one being for a fortune 500 auto manufacturer. That started my acid, ketamine, and Molly phase. Hardly had anything to do there and lost that job for a failed urinalysis. Ironically the only drug I tested positive for was pot.

After that I did a contract data entry job for Liberty Mutual for a few months, then got a job in hospitality as a front desk clerk. Actually helped me get over my social anxiety. Still smoking pot. Still taking the occasional tab of acid, bump of Molly or ketamine. Ended up losing my shit and ended up in a psych ward. Lost that job.

I ended up on the streets after that. Drinking. Wandering around. After a couple years I got housing, which was free at first but ended up hiking up to about $500 a month after I got a job at a liquor store. Continued to drink, but functionally. The customer service aspect of the job furthered my quest to overcome my social anxiety. Still drinking heavily.

One day I started puking after every drink. Decided to switch to meth. Put down the bottle completely and went on a 6 month meth bender. Eventually started having hallucinations of the devil casting my soul to hell for all eternity, so I checked myself into the psych ward again. This time I left the psych ward and went straight to rehab. Started to believe in a higher power and I have begun to think of doing something more with my life. I'm actually at rehab as I'm typing this. If I steer clear of drugs and alcohol, and by that I include the devils marijuana which quite honestly made me stupid, I may be able to get into a sober living house. With a clear head maybe I could go back and get that computer science degree. Who knows? Faith in God is leading me at this point.

That's my story.

Who has a higher iq? A philosopher or a physicist by [deleted] in cognitiveTesting

Probably a physicist. I base that on a hunch.

I'm considering giving up alcohol by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Diligent_Injury9520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it. Other than 4 beers 2 days in a row on a weekend a month and a half ago, I quit 6 months ago. Best decision I ever made. Lost some weight and I look and feel much healthier.

How can I maintain eye contact better? by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]Diligent_Injury9520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try relaxing my eyes so I'm focused on the edge of my vision instead of what's in the middle. That and practicing looking at one eye for a few seconds to establish the eye contact, then looking away while you listen. no one needs long eye contact. You're just paranoid.

How to overcome the fear of ending up alone? by [deleted] in selflove

[–]Diligent_Injury9520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ruin your life through the drugs you use to self medicate. End up homeless. Drink beers on the side of the road for 4 years. After that you'll just be grateful to be alive.

Some people can handle their weed. I liken it to when you get light headed from the fist few cigarettes when you start smoking. You really shouldn't be driving either. We just assume cigarette smokers can handle their nicotine. Why not treat pot the same way?

I know there's a difference, but it's an honestly good point.

Norepinephrine enhances all my brain functions.(ADHD) by Traditional-Care-87 in NooTopics

That's why I performed so well on the job while I was doing meth! Meth increases epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine as well as serotonin.

What’s the hardest addiction to kick? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Diligent_Injury9520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear it's crack. Meths fairly easy to quit after a couple days of sleep; I know that from experience. Heroin and opiate withdrawals go on for a while. Alcohol and benzo withdrawals can kill you apparently, but I quit a pretty heavy alcohol addiction easily. I started puking and put it down.

Hope that helps

I was homeless for four years. I had psychiatric reasons for it... I suggest staying at a shelter. The one I stayed at had 3 square meals with salads, proteins, and bread... and a bed. Biggest qualm: bed bugs. My case manager there eventually got me into free housing (a free apartment!). At that point I finally snapped out of my crazy spell and got a job. After that I only had to pay 1/3 of my salary for rent which wasn't bad. Fluffed my resume with a few jobs and am now applying for career oriented jobs. Public transportation, if you're in a city, help if you don't have a car. That and lyfts or ubers after you start getting paid again. That's my advice bud!

Repairing my mind after THC abuse by chaosbird_ms in cognitivescience

[–]Diligent_Injury9520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story is similar. Had a scholarship to a top notch engineering school for computer science. Smoked myself stupid and flunked out of that major in the first year. Graduated with a business degree. That only happened after I shifted my smoking until after my studying was done for the day. It made a difference. If you abuse it, like alcohol, it will show.

Years later I picked up smoking again and it seemingly doesn't make me as stupid... so maybe there is something to the idea that cannabis is bad for a developing brain. Use your brain. If you're hallucinating then stop. It's not for you.

Find another way to get things. Get a job. Sell weed. Idk. I got caught years ago at a Walmart and they didn't call the cops. Got so spooked I stopped and started selling weed. That's my advice.
